V10 RS6 questions

Post by dram » Mon Sep 08, 2014 8:32 pm

Hi,

I just bought a c6 rs6 with an MRC stage 2 map and filters, very impressive it is too.

I have a couple of questions if I may?

1. Is it mapped for a particular octane of fuel? I've been using Vpower nitro+ because it's what I use in my tuned Subaru (which was mapped on 99 fuel) but it would be convenient to have the option of using 97.

2. If I buy a Milltek would it need mapped again?

Thanks!

Hi Dram, welcome to the C6 fold !!

I think consensus here is to use either Shell Vpower or Tesco Momentum 99. Some prefer the Tesco 99 over the Vpower.

I think if I remember last time I was there Doug said the Nitro was producing slightly better results then Momentum......or did I dream it :drink:

We always say use 98+ron fuel in tuned cars - so Shell NitroPlus or Tesco Momentum. Relatively high compression turbo cars are very sensitive to fuel quality. There are very few cars we will tune for low grade fuel - its not always safe to do so.

It doesn't need mapped again. The cats are what is restricting gains in the exhaust.
