MK Meet - Weds 3rd October

Post by Ian_C » Thu Sep 20, 2012 12:00 am

MK Meet - Weds 3rd October, 6:30pm onwards at the Caldecotte Arms, Milton Keynes.

Fantastic meet last time out, vote from those present last time was to continue with 6:30pm through the winter - ie. start MK 6:30pm year round. If people cannot arrive until the old time / later that is of course absolutely fine. We meet every month BST, every other month winter, hence meets in October then Dec, Feb and monthly again from April. Usual suspects please post your interest, potential MK meet newbies please post below so we can look out and welcome you! Any enthusiast welcome, hosted by Tyresmoke, cross posted on RS246, Audi SRS and the S2 Forum. As mentioned previously, the food is very much part of this meet, I'd expect to wander inside about 7:30pm now the evenings are drawing in, its great to get everyone around a table together when we are done gawping at cars.

For any newcomers (or forgetful old timers) the Caldecotte Arms pub is by the junction of the A5 and the A4146 right next to the oddly shaped - and now smoothly resurfaced - roundabout under the A5 (great for testing your Milltek). Look for the Windmill! Coming off the dual carriageway, drive down as far as the pub and then turn left towards the outside 'arc' of the car park - the top tier so to speak.

Looking forward to this final summertime meet. Excellent breakfast meet today near Silverstone with some of the guys from SRS, might see a few more come along to MK also. I'll be there for 6:30pm, anticipate going inside to eat by 7:30pm as it will be dark by then, same table as always booked, line under the window immediately on the left inside the front door

Truly excellent meet tonight, 15 people is a great turn out considering the summer weather has now departed and the evenings are rapidly [and depressingly] drawing in. Shame it was nice all day long and then rained at precisely 6:30pm, it went dark really quickly as the cloud and rain came in. No photos sorry!

To the people who have said 'thanks for organising it,' well all I can say is a massive thanks back in return - its YOUR meet, YOU guys make it what it is. We've got a cracking bunch of attendees, a variety of machinery, mostly Audis, mostly German. Occasionally something a bit different comes along, like a LHD 6.0 litre retractable hardtop convertible pickup.......

MK reverts every other month slot through winter time with the clocks change, hence meets in Dec and Feb and then monthly again from April after the clocks have changed back. If people might have come along every other month through the winter, this approach congregates everyone together maintaining a good attendance through the dark colder months.

See you 5th Dec, winter tyres time!
