Just seen this on PistonHeads, thought you might like it.
BRUNTINGTHORPE 2 MILE RUNWAY MAX SPEED RUN.
Dear all,
You may have read about previous max speed runs & fun had on the 2 mile straight.
A few of us at work have booked Bruntingthorpe to go again and have some fun.
It is looking like we may have limited space available if any of you are interested in coming along.
The day is Sunday April 27th and will be from around 11am to around 4.30 pm, will probably involve around 6 maximum speed runs, these will be electronically recorded and also then displayed on electronic boards around 100m after the speed traps.
We currently have varying cars going from TVRs, Porsches, Ferrari's to a replica Cobra and a few other interesting cars.
The 2 mile straight is very wide and smooth & we will only be running 2 cars on the runway at any one time.
If you are interested please drop me an email, it should be good!

Its going to be the definitive test for you, Andy.
Would have loved to attend - a standard RS would have been a useful benchmark, but the missus has reminded me we have a prior engagement

That's a shame Tim would have been good to meet up and discuss hair products

That's the spirit mate
Reckon this is the first test prior to "Ten of the Best" which had a handling track/qtr mile/top speed run last year. Rocket Ronnie (Skyline R33) won both the qtr and the top speed (198mph I think), so could be fun all round

I've done this a couple of times now (in my TVR), and it is to be recommended.

I'm already signed up for the 27th April.
That runway disappears remarkably quickly, and it is surprising how difficult it is to get a top speed near what you would expect.
Jeremy
(Bruntingthorpe best 164mph thru' speed trap, still accelerating

)
