Wednesday 1st June, 7:30pm for 8pm at the Caldecotte Arms, Milton Keynes.

Some members asking about meets in the Beds Bucks Northants area, hence thought I'd throw this open to all in the meets section: There's a long running meet on the first Weds of the month in Milton Keynes from Audi forum Tyresmoke.net (aka TSN, nee Audi Sport, nee S3 forum). Primarily for Audis - think our record was six D2 A8s and S8s - but nowdays all enthusiasts are welcome - you won't be turned away like the chap in the 997 Turbo last month at Ace Cafe!! A few years back it was run alongside a SEAT club night, and recently Edition 38 / Ultra VW or similar are also there the same night. The vast majority of [our] attendees drive Audis, although some have other cars / 'summer' toys as well. RS246 and Tyresmoke have had joint meets before so I'm sure nobody minds me posting this on here, for the events section on TSN is only viewable by registered users, but pm me or post here. I'll be in my S4 this month and next (pre and post Le Mans - going with fellow attendee Nik and his brother).

The Caldecotte Arms pub is by the junction of the A5 and the A4146 right next to the oddly shaped - and now smoothly resurfaced - roundabout under the A5 (great for testing your Milltek). Turn into the car park, drive down as far as the pub and then turn left towards the outside 'arc' of the car park - the top tier. Look for the Windmill! (see below)

Dave has prompted me to add that the food is very much part of this meet. Plenty of space and tables, no need to reserve anything, tis good to have hearty meal together. They've always got mid week 2 meal deals going, so it's not expensive either. I'd say we usually wander inside about 9 ish, maybe later if weather is great like it has been. Last orders are about 10 iirc. Pub has recently been refurbished and much improved too.

Excellent. Have had 184 thread views on Tyresmoke which has got to be a record, plenty of replies, looks like we are in for a decent turn out. Looks like the weather is going to be better than feared too.

Adding to my opening post, it's a big car park. Coming off the dual carriageway, drive down as far as the pub and then turn left towards the outside 'arc' of the car park - the top tier so to speak. Look for the Windmill! The first four pics in the gallery linked below are a clue to park. Myself (plated B6 S4 Avant) and Craig (11 plate A7) are likely to be first arrivals and I'll be there for 7:30!

It's also a big pub too - have sent people who replied to this thread a pm with my number so you can find us if you are delayed and we've moved inside to eat. We might be sat outside if it's sunny and not too windy.

Ian

Good to meet you Lee and Steve (Moto) - good to have some V8 company! :beerchug:

Especially envious of the Nogaro Blue with matching alcantara. :nogarors4:

Oh and yes, you both made a lovely noise leaving the car park in convoy! :kissmyrings:

good to meet both of you guys as well - got me thinking about Avants now... though not sure which.

Shame I couldn't stick around, my head is still banging.

What was funny is the VW lot looking like proper boys in the corner, peering over at the men with their V8's thinking "I want one of those when I grow up"

:biggrin3:

No worries! The ironic thing was that I was there a fraction after 6pm as a mate had finished work early and was doing something on my car for me. However I only knew I was going to be getting there early when he text me at 4pm. We also had two people come from Evesham and Norwich (yes really!) and another from Peterborough who arrived earlier than 7:30pm with the lighter half term traffic. Perhaps with the better turn out and the better weather I should scrub the "7:30 for 8pm" bit and just put 7:30pm?

Yep. After you left Weds I wondered whether you needed a hand collecting your new wheels but gather you have already taken care of those. Got four / five alloys to collect myself.
