Ok, I popped into Ace Cafe this afternoon to ask about possible regular forum meet as many members have expressed interest, I went through their diary for 2011 with the events manager and managed to agree on a slot for us.

Event day : 1st Sunday of every month
Time : 6pm - 10.30pm

Few details manager asked me to outline.

No fee etc for meet

Must be a regular even or we lose our slot

No outside food or drink, even in your own cars or car park, as they are a cafe and a business at the end of the day!

During summer we have daylight up until 9.30-10pm so not a problem, the only drawback I can see would be that there aren't many roads around the cafe to have a nice run or convoy run, and to top it off there are normally a few traffic police roaming around.

I spose we could meet up there initially then perhaps head off down some A roads in the area?

Other than this, the venue has plenty of history, plenty of car park space for us, great selection of food and drink and can be accesses from many different routes I.E M1, M40, M25

What is the general feeling on the above? As I need to get back to the manager with confirmation.

I love the idea but know the evening slot will be an issue for me, sorry dude!

Was evening the only option as a morning might work better for people from far .... Tend to get better weather in the morning also

I did have a feeling that the evening slot may be an issue, besides this we can either have a mid week event, which again may not be practical for most or tie in with another meet, weekends are normally bikes and quads...

Ace Cafe is mental busy, and fully booked for rest of the year, so the Sunday evening slot was all we could agree on I'm afraid

Let's roll with it and see what interest there is

Can always throw in a pub meet in Kent or Mddlesex in between

Son's birthday this weekend and I'm in Vegas the weekend of the 12th. (gutted).

DK, yep posted on SRS too, Shane, starting from whichevers convenient, we just have to agree on a month to start from and I will let the events manager know, maybe we can do a Kent meet for March then start Ace Cafe from April?

100% in. The 'road' we pottered down on Sunday is only 15mins drive from the Ace and as mentioned earlier there are plenty more locally.
