Back from 1st Ring visit..

Just got back from the ring... and I have to say that it's awesome!
I almost didn't make it because the car was booked in to MRC on Friday for an EGT fault, but Doug couldn't make it (congrats Doug) anyway the guys there did their best and we eventually got it sorted and 1700 miles later I'm glad to say it didn't miss a beat. Cheers guys.
We also took a 2002 225 S3, but unfortunately it didn't make it back home under it's own steam because the oil pickup pipe was found to be blocked after the oil light came on mid carrousel! We did clean out the pickup pipe at the Ringhaus workshop (Frank is a Gent!) but the lack of oil pressure while the turbo was spooled must have knackered the turbo... Anyone got a spare one for sale?
Rain stopped play on Sunday afternoon so we went to the Michael Schumacher kart track in Kerpen for some drifting on the rain soaked track... what a blast!
As for lap times, I did manage a 8.55 BTG time although I'm not sure it's accurate because it was my first time at the ring and only managed 8 laps before the rain set in.. Opinions welcome!
Anyway if you haven't done the ring the I'd definately recommend it, not only for the track but for the whole experience. The atmosphere is amazing!
I've got a feeling I'll soon be buying a season ticket.......
Mike
PS, I did have to stop mid lap to let one of my passengers throw up over the crash barrier..... and a following passenger managed to catch it on his camera so I'll post the picture soon!
