Kent and Sussex Meet

Seems like an idea...Question is where and when. Seems like the best bet would be somewhere on the border, say west of Tunbridge Wells....either a Saturday or Sunday lunchtime ???

Geography is not my strongest suite, but the only place I knew (some years ago) in that approximate area is the Spotted Dog at Penshurst (http://www.restaurantspy.com/node/570 and http://www.penshurst-online.co.uk/f&d_spotted_dog.htm) - pity about the neighbour's trees because the view was wonderful from the rear terrace. Good size car park, too IIRC. Might be too far away for deep Sussexers

Weekend lunchtimes fine, but a Monday or Tuesday evening in May or June could be an idea.

I'd be up for this. There's a nice pub with a decent size car park in Forest Row, between East Grinstead & Uckfield if that's any good?

How about the Saturday or Sunday before Easter, 15/16 March, or the Saturday before that, 8 March? I can't do Sunday 9 March, though.

I suggest the Spotted Dog this time as it's OK for at least 3 of us and it's not much further on from Wadhurst so I hope it wouldn't be too far for S4INT.

Do you think we need to tell the Spotted Dog we are planning to be there ? Wives and kids ?

Penshurst is fine by me. Probably should let the pub know out of courtesy, although if there is only a few of us it probably won't matter.

I might bring the wife & kids if we are "doing lunch" otherwise it will be just me.

Civilised lunch sounds good and I think we should book as I'm sure they will be busy on a Sunday, particularly if the weather is ok. My kids will be elsewhere and I'll ask Mrs b if she wishes to join us.

So how many are we talking about, do you think?
