Santa Pod RWYB

Right there has been a lot of talk about going to Santa Pod on the forum particularly in the B5 S4 section, but of course this is open to all. So LETS ORGAINSE IT!

I'm sure most of our participants will already know what's what but Santa Pod Raceway near Wellingborough run "Run What You Brung" days. Check the small print but last time I went this meant a £10 entry on the day and I think another £10 if you want to register to run. As long as you have a driving license that means you can queue up and run the 1/4 mile as many times as is possible in the day.

You don't have to worry who you are up against as you are timed against when you leave the line not when the light goes green but seasoned runners will probably be into their reaction times too.

These days make for fantastic days out for spectating only too, but it really is hard to not get sucked into having a go. Whenever I have been there has always been planty of space to park up as a group, with nothing too formal organised inthe parking dept, so again ideal for an unofficial forum meet up.

So the website is here with all the info you need:

http://www.santapod.co.uk/index.php

I have put a poll up with some proposed intial dates hoping to get this moving as it would be good to see some of us make a group appearance at least once this year, if not make it a bit of a series everyone can follow not just those who go anyway year in year out.

Cast your vote and post letting us know you ar interested, your chosen date(s) and if you will be running or watching etc.

Staff - can we have the poll set for multiple votes or not?

I actually can make any of the dates but would prefer sooner rather than later so either of the April dates or May. I think the non event dates are likely to be quieter with a more varied mixture of other cars there.

Probably just spectating unless I get brave.

I doubt I can make the 1st date, don't fancy going with all the Fords but the later 2 dates are good for me :)

Thanks Graham.

Multiple votes are not supported so far as I'm aware.

Later dates are probably better for some because of the Donington trackday and the ring trip.

just checked the site.

£10 entry per person

£20 sign on , unlimited runs ( depends how busy, most ive ever bothered doing in one day is 5 runs, could have fitted a few more, and was fairly busy on that day )

helps if you bring some mates to push your car whilst Q'ing, especialy in a turbo'd and/or 4x4 car!

also, there is a BP not to far from the place to fill up

the food there aint all that, + aint cheap, did someone say disposable BBQ???

Sat 9th June looking popular then. I suggest this is the date we attempt, get it in your diaries!

I thought the Sundays would be more popular (and quieter in general) but hopefully everyone can manage a Saturday.

ZeroK66, Brett, Mihnea, Doug, KayGee can we tempt you onto the strip on this day?

Anyone else?

CliveH, ShineyDave, you know you love a drive down the M1, not far from the M'way this one, good day out for the kids!

Unfortunately I'm at a wedding that day (9th), mind you I'm only 15 miles away (do ya think they'll miss me for a couple of hours????). I was hoping to have the RS6 turbos fitted by then but this isn't looking like a reality for a while yet.
