RS246 Trackday Saturday 24th March Donington Park

Post by DavidT » Mon Jan 22, 2007 8:57 pm

Following on from our previous successes at Donington Park, I am pleased to announce another trackday at this venue.

Saturday 24th March 2006

RS246 has negotiated exclusive rights to all 3 sessions (Novice, Intermediate & Expert). We hope to encourage people with little or no trackday experience to have a go with the huge advantage of knowing who they are sharing the track with. There will be people available to passenger and generally help out.

There will also be many experienced folks taking part in the intermediate session, with a great mix of cars.

Please book into Novice or Intermediate only to begin with. We hope to fill these and then move people into the expert session.

RS246 is not able to make a financial commitment to purchase the whole day and therefore, we have exclusive rights for bookings made by end of play on Friday 23rd February. After this point, public bookings will be accepted into all sessions, although we can still book additional places based on availability. Basically, the more we book, the more we get the place to ourselves, up to the maximum of 30 cars per session.

This is a strictly 98 db on driveby day (this equate to 100db static, see:http://www.donington-park.co.uk/circuit/faq.asp#Q6 ) nothing louder will be allowed.

We have negotiated a 10% discount on the standard fee of £ 139, so our price is £ 125.10, plus a fee of £ 2.25 fee for credit/debit cards.

Please see: http://www.donington-park.co.uk/trakzone/

Call Caroline Blythe on 01332 819 503 quoting: RS246 to book.

If you have not attended one of our events, please come along, they are always excellent days out.

Photographer

We are looking to get a deal price on a photography package which I will confirm here.

Instructors

Can be booked direct with the circuit.

Accommodation

Hilton East Midlands has a deal on : 2 nights for £ 99 double or twin room, including dinner on the first night and breakfast both mornings. This is subject to change, based on availability, so book early !

htp://www.hilton.co.uk/eastmidlandsairport 01509 674 000

Or see http://www.donington-park.co.uk/about/places.asp

So there you go, get booking please and post up here with Session, Name, Car.

Note:

This event is not just for Audi's. All we ask is that whoever comes is known to the forum or a friend of someone who is. Basically we are trying (within reason) to ensure that everyone plays nicely, as has always been the way with events organised by RS246 and we have had some fantastic ones.

We also want to encourage people to spectate as doing so will still make for a good day out.

I am up for this but need to know if the noise level is 98db tested while you drive past or before you go out - that will decide which car to take.

Doug,

See: http://www.donington-park.co.uk/circuit/faq.asp#Q6

and: http://www.donington-park.co.uk/circuit/noise.asp

98db driveby is equivalent to 100db static.

Thanks for arranging the Mr T.

I see they are still trying to cram 30 cars in per session - this IMHO is too many - I didn't get one clear lap in on the last track day at Donnington.

Is the advice to book into the novice session only at this stage, as I can't see us (rs246) making the 60 cars needed for both sessions??

B5 2.7t RS4 - gone
Ed 30 Golf DSG - gone
A5 3.0tdi - gone within 12 months!
S3 2.0 tfsi - 6+ years, but now sold
2018 Golf R 7.5

No worries, we hope (pray!) it will be well attended and enjoyable :)

People with experience should book in intermediate. Beginners in Novice.

We are looking to get a very good showing for this event

Then I will get it booked, and this time bring the right tyres - it was a bit wet in December for cut slicks....

Also will have some more mods to car by then, not sure on the 100bd's though, might have to slow down coming past the pits...

Ah, but quite a lot of fun Rich. :bigblink: I did all of that day with track tyres too albeit with reasonable tread and It was only really hairy in the morning. I will book onto the intermediate Dave, thanks for organising this. Hopefully we'll get a better quality experience than December when there were too many interruptions for poor driving and too many cars.
Happy to help and support in any other way mate :beerchug:
