South West Meet

Post by si_hill » Fri Jan 19, 2007 3:31 pm

Well after meeting up with ZeroK66 last weekend we thought it would be good to get a South West meet organised. I know there are quite a few of us lurking on these forums so please put your name down to show interest.

It will probably take place around the middle of February with the location likely to be halfway between Bristol and Plymouth, theres a good pub just off J27 of the M5 with a plenty of parking. Also plenty of good roads around that area if anyone wants to have some FATS times logged or 0-60 etc.

Zero and I both have full VAG-COM so I expect we will both be able to help anyone out that wants to check for DTC's (faults) / have them cleared etc etc

So show your interest and we'll get something arranged. S and RS models are rarer round these parts so would be good to get a few of us together.

Come on there must be more SW members lurking around these parts

How about Sunday 25th February as the meet date. Once we know who is likely to attend we can arrange the location.

Where's Fletchie55???

Think he is off to Auz... can we maybe have this sooner? He is off on the 18th. Him and I have been thinking of getting the guy down who does cruise controll installs down to do a few cars... his charge is #180... but sure we can get the price down for a few of us. Anyone keen on this?

18th is cool with me. Not sure about cruise, I have driven a few rental cars with cruise and couldnt get to grips with it, maybe because the roads I was travelling on were too busy? Would like to see a demo on someone elses car though.

cruise is great for keeping your speed in check on morotways or 30 limits, its just too easy to look away from the speedo, glance back and your almost double ;-)

Long as it not too far away from the deepest realms of Cornwall then i'll pop along. Any sunday would be best for me as only day guaranteed off work. I'm sure i can give up golf for one week  . Can do other dates but need notice to see if can arrange it with work. Would be good to meet some people as not met anyone from the site yet even though been on here for 12 months  I'm ok with the cruise control mod though as mine had installed from factory.

P.S.Whilst the SW boys will be looking at this my local car forum is having a rolling road day in Plymouth on the 17th Feb discounted rates ( usually £30 instead of £50). Heading off to Exeter in the evening for a large meet ( last one filled the entire Exeter services ). Anyone who wants to come along let me know your more than welcome to attend it'll show everyone what our cars are really made of lol

Congratulations mate, you must have your hands full :D

Well the 18th is getting closer. I reckon we should meet just off J27 of the M5 (approx 1/2 way between Plymouth and Bristol), there is a pretty good pub with a large'ish carpark just about 1/2 mile from the motorway, plenty of good quiet roads for some FATS runs etc.

Open invitation for all S and RS owners
