Bit naive here...is this day OK for a total novice? Also, do you need a licence (maybe a stupid question, but just lost mine for a while)

Track days are ok for a Novice, as they usually have different groups for ability (most if not all trackers think that they are 'experts'.........) and in addition most track events will have an instructor on hand to assist you with finding the correct lines and advice on handling etc - but check first and almost certainly will incur an extra cost.

In my experience it has been well worth the cost.

But almost certainly you will need a full valid driving license.

Pete's right on all three counts, well worth it though.
At Oulton those of us who had left our licences at home ( doh !) had to speak to the DVLA person that the circuit phone, and rest assured it will come out that your licence is currently not available !!!
Perhaps it is more appropriate for you to be on the track though :) :) :)

I will be booking this up before the weekend, anyone else going to be coming along? I know John is booking it up and is planning on travelling up the day before. Should be a good laugh if we can get a group of us from rs246 toghether. Certainly a good track!

Are you talking about 2003 or 2004 John?

I thought 2004 was spot on, if a little expensive.
