Audi Driver Days at Silverstone

Post by Bushy » Tue Jan 27, 2004 10:03 am

Hi all,

I recently received an email from Audi regarding driver training days at Silverstone at £349 for the day, I have emailed them and asked if we could book a day just for our members which they agreed to but unfortunately without any additional discount as the day is apparently already 30% subsidised

So who would be interested?
The Silverstone Driving Experiece
The experience starts here.

In the UK the Audi Driving Experience will be based at the world famous Silverstone circuit's Drive Centre. The training is of one-day duration and is run in small groups with a high instructor to student ratio.

During our one day Silverstone Driving Experience you will get to know the most important theoretical and practical elements of safe, enjoyable driving. It will give you valuable knowledge on how to evaluate risks and recognise dangers and how to react in emergency situations.

The day starts with a hot breakfast and briefing to enable you to understand the physics behind driving and just what is happening to the car in differing situations.

This is followed by six different practical sessions, covering understeer, cornering techniques, slalom driving, circuit driving, fast lane changes and ABS braking. All these activities are designed to replicate real world conditions and are conducted at open road speeds.

For each exercise you will drive one of our fleet of sporty Audi cars, including the 450 bhp Audi RS 6 quattro and completion of this course entitles you to participate in the other Audi Driving Experience activities.

The UK Audi Driving Experience is sure to open your eyes to your car’s and your own abilities and help prepare you for the unexpected. Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the day.

After your day at Silverstone you are sure to want to develop your skills further, so participation in the UK Audi Driving Experience opens the door for you to attend other Audi Driving Experiences around the world, from the incredible Nürburgring Nordschleife circuit with its 170+ corners to ice driving in Finland.

If we can all agree a date then I would be up for it
Although:

I have reservations that we will be bored when told to drive an A4 sport

Will we actually learn anything

Can we act silly in our own cars

I think if the hierachy of this forum contacted certain departments there may still be room for negotiation on the price

Do we all get a certificate saying we are good drivers

Depending on date I'd be up for it (holidays already booked in May & June).

Btw, your mail says £395, and the text you quoted says
£349

Cheers,
John
