OK, so no more messing around.
Get your places booked
here is the entry form.
We want to see lots of RS cars from the UK. We are going to try to organise a visit to Neckarsulm as well, so plan on being off work for a few days.
The agenda for the RS Drivers' Challenge is as follows (Note this is with aid of an online translator, so I might be slightly out!!):
Friday 14th November:
- Drive to Reilingen (near Hockenheim)

- Arrive at the Hotel Walkershof (Where the F1 Drivers stay during the German GP)
- Go-karting
- Group Dinner
Saturday 15th November:
- Welcome
- Indemnity
- Vehicle Inspection (Don't forget your towing eye)
- Track Instruction
- On Track
- Warm up laps
- Lunch
- Prize giving
The cost is 290 Euro for the driver + car, and 150 Euro for passengers. I think this includes the stay at the Walkershof. Last year we had to transfer the money to Audi Germany, this year we will try and make it simpler.
Last year was a 'lads' weekend, so please let us know if you prefer to bring partners!!
RS246 stickers are manadatory .
Any questions, let us know....

I have to ask, is this organised like a real race meet, and is there any point in going if you have a standard car on standard brakes/suspension/road tyres ??
i.e. Is it more like a track day with safe, courteous overtakes, or more like a proper race with people undertaking/outbraking into bends etc (I don't mind either as long as I know, but would like to come home in one bit ! ).
I quite fancy the idea of going, but not if I'm going to be the mobile chicane...
btw, will you lot do a ferry crossing, or the tunnel ?
And I assume you are out on the Friday, returning home on the Monday ?
Cheers,
John.

It is a fairly safe race... Last year the incidents were down to rain (Lots of it!!). As you are going for a set time on each lap, the position of each car should never really change. There were some stock cars that went last year, and the only possible issue was keeping up with the chipped cars on the Autobahn.... But they found that there was plenty left over 155mph .
Personally this year I would like to go via SeaCat (We took the ferry last year). Don't like the tunnel, can swim better than I can dig!!
Friday to Monday doesn't seem long enough to include a visit to the factory, but if you want to arrive after us, and/or leave early, that's up to you.
Basically, you will have a fantastic time .

The Fax number on the entry form is not correct
I cant seem to dial that number too many digits.
But on a positive note, firstly it is not a race, its a time trial, and all albilities are in it.
I suggest that if you want to be competitive you should use a stop watch strapped to your steering wheel (eh Conti ) somehow mate dont think youre gonna win a third time
But really you will have a super time, the hosiptality that Audi Quattro Gmbh showed was excellent, and the off pieste attractions were good too.
So there are limited places available left and we urge anyone who really fancies having a great time to book ASAP.
Cheers
jr

I can't see any hindrances in my way of winning 3rd time!
As long as you (JR) and pHIL are in the second group I only have to fight Andy, "Mr. Cheek"and Jon_Parker!
My friend also won the challenge twice. And I really have the amition to beat him. (indirect) Of course with the help of all of you! Who's with me?

Anyone else having problems downloading the entry form?
Is a very different event to a UK trackday, on the one hand the over taking rules were short and sweet - ie none, but on the other hand the general level of skill seemed pretty high (until we wnt out anyway ) which was reflected in the lack of incidents.
The weather last year was the worst I'd ever seen on a track day and there were 2 decent crashes, one caused by a bit of panic in the chicane and the other by the excellent choice of semi slick tyres in 2 inches of standing water.
Trust me guys, this was such a laugh last year that we all vowed to literaly drag more people over for this years event plus I need some more drinking buddies.....the others were all pussies last year

Warning : there's a second entry form to use (just got it from Mr Straube) and it seems they expect payment as the time of the subscription.
I've sent the file to PhilT so he can choose how/whether to post both of them or just one (don't want to confuse with double-posting of forms).

I knew this would happen, due to lasts years hold up on paying...... Funny thing is we all wanted to pay cash on the day, but Audi said no no no we send the bill, yeah why should we pay £15 extra to transfer the money!
