Had great fun on Sunday at Donington with Circuit Days guys. Really well organised, and even with the maximum capacity of cars there was plenty of space on track for everyone (and all abilities thankfully!

)
Highly recommended!

So i'm looking at booking a day at Silverstone for the 22nd of Dec and taking the old man up while he's in town.
What is the skill level of the drivers on these days? I don't want to be out with a bunch of semi pro drivers.
Also will I be able to rent helmets for the day?

Cheers.

Dunno about Silverstone but at Donnie the drivers were a mixed bag. Some where ok with some decent metal and there was a few nutters in sheds. Every track day I’ve done have been similar. Just keep 1 eye on the rear and 1 looking ahead. Drive at your own pace and if you feel uncomfortable with whoever’s behind you just pull to the right and let them pass. It’s not a race as some divvy’s think it is. I believe the Circuit days helmet hire is on a first come first serve basis. But to be honest I’d just buy a cheap open face helmet. Nits and all you know!!

As Eddie says it will most likely be a mixed bag of drivers. I just let the faster metal/convoys of cars driving closely, pass and found my own slice of track to drive on. Harry's laptimer is a great app if you think you might do another track day, really lets you see your progression throughout the day. I hired a helmet for £10, but will be buying one for next time.

Depending what the weather's like, I might pop down to Silverstone on the 22nd. Did the Donington Troops Day at Donington yesterday; taking troops out for passenger laps and pretty much had the track to myself
