Best tyres?

Hi guys, couple of quick questions.

When you get a puncture on the RS6, do you have to change both tyres, all four tyres or just the one?
I know with previous cars, it's suggested to change at least 2 or all four to keep the 4wd computer system running correctly.

Secondly, what are the recommended tyres to use?
It currently has 275/35/ZR20 102Y Michelin Pilot Super Sports on.

And lastly, where's the best prices place to buy them?

Thanks in advance.

It really depends on the wear per axle. If the other tyre on said axle is fairly new then replacing a single tyre of the exact same model will be fine, but I'd suggest 25% wear being the maximum. If more than this then replace both.

I'd suggest not switching tyre make unless you're changing all 4 tyres, but you'll be hard pushed to better the MPSS.

Thank god for that. I was just thinking we hadn't had a tyre thread yet this month!

Axle pair should always be the same make/model. As above - 25% or so difference and you should consider switching.

Pilot Super Sports are pretty much the ultimate daily driver / spirited driving tyre. Stay with them.

I've just been told by Audi that it should have Pirrelli P0 RO1's on it.
Tyre wear on the good back tyre is down to about 4/5mm
So I will need to change both rear tyres.
But can I change the rear two to pirrelli's and still keep the michelins on the front?
Thanks again guys

Ignore the Audi idiot who's never driven both. Please!

Whatever you do, do NOT move from PSS's to PZeros. You'll hate it.

Good advice from Ross.

I reckon we should make a separate Tyres sub-forum, and let bam_bam moderate. Could be entertaining!

TinTin - So how much tread do the 3x good tyres have left on them?

Tyreleader have good prices. Also worth a look; camskill, oponeo, and apparently kwik-fit mobile have some good deals sometimes (as reported on the forum)

The "25%" thing is not accurate. There are limits/tolerence around rolling diameter but you will not reach them as long as the tyres are within the legal limits. i have posted the source information for this before if you want to search for it.

It is true about tread patterns though, dont mix them

Also that pirelli are <beep>, stay with your PSS

Sorry if it the wrong thread, I'm new to forums as well as RS6's! Lol
I've stuck with the super sports, but decided to change both tears just to be on the safe side

Yeah don't listen to the idiot from Audi, mine came with Dunlops from the factory and some come with continentals. All of which are labelled as R01 Audi specific but as stated above the michelins are far superior.
