Maybe on the TT (which is a bargain!). You still don't want to kill them in a day. That said Pagid RS29's are usually about £250 a pair.

Discs and pads all round on the E36 floor r us was £460.

Have any of you chaps tried an aftermarket wireless TPMS kit in order to monitor tyre pressures and temps?

There seem to be some that utilise internal sensors on the valve, and cheaper ones that use a new valve cap. Either way you get a display in the car with temps and pressure for all 4 corners as you're lapping!

Version with internal TPMS sensors (must be better for temps):

Re TPMS, I'd say just get a digital gauge and check when in pits

I though about getting some but decided not to right now.
Firstly the screw type, would be annoying to constantly undo to pump up or deflate. And for the internal once, it's a fair amount of cash since you have to unmount all 4 tyres. At best extra £60. So instead using handheld device for a tenner ;)

Screw you lot, I'm getting them Image

Bagged an unused pair of 245/45/17 nankang NS2R's for £80 on eBay. Going to order 2 more, get some lightweight 17's to mount them on, and so can do TPMS at the same time.

I was looking at team dynamics, OZ's etc and then stumbled across Autec Wizards (German brand). 8.6kg for a 17" rim vs 8.2kg TD pro 1.2, but only £430 for a set! Can you believe the stock TT wheels are 13.8kg!

Image

Haven't sorted the wheels yet, but did order some coilovers. ST XA's - had never heard of them before; ST is a KW brand, and the XA is identical to the KW variant 2, but galvanised rather than stainless steel so cheaper.

Yep!

£147 each from tyreleader but you might need spacers (ET35)

They're load rated for vans, 600kg/wheel I believe

Balls. My coilover order is stuck in a backlog at the KW factory - not due to be sent out till 24th May :-(

The car's probably not going on track for a month though from late May to late June (during Ramadan), so I might stick it on axle stands on the drive and have a bash at fitting the coillies myself.

4 hours for a pro to fit them - 4 weeks for me? Sounds about right!
