Anybody planning on going to Le Mans next year? I've not gone before but have just joined a group heading down there on the Friday. Do people prep their cars for the trip down? I'm hoping it's going to be a blast!

I'm heading down with 4 mates, heading via spa and the ring on the way down aswell. Been once before. Sorting out campsite over weekend.

I'm pencilled (not 100% confirmed yet) to be on Team Langoustines camp site with my normal rabble.
As for prepping the car... Yes, you could say that.
Some people really rock up on some exceptional cars.

Blimey, I can't recall. It was a guy who specialised in Porsche decals. I just gave him the size of the car & he had them printed to fit accordingly

I’m going for the 5th time with a reduced contingent this year so probably only 1 car with 4 of us squeezed in. We’ll be staying in the 1stTickets private camp site on Bleu Nord (if it ain’t broke don’t fix it). We usually do Friday to Monday and head out on the Eurotunnel but I’m reconsidering the tunnel this year due to all the issues they’re having.
You must sticker up your car, it’s the law when heading to LM.
Where are you staying and what car are you taking?

No I came second in the race last year in my C6 but Smudge took the overall honours in his C7. I’ll be back to MRC soon to make sure I claim the top step of the podium in Le Mans 2016
Seriously I sum the weekend up as a drinking session with a great race as the back drop. Last year I actually watched a fair bit of the race from our spot in the grandstand and at various places round the track. It’s a top weekend and I think it’s hard to find much better racing anywhere else.
It was a hoot last year to watch the Aston support race. They set off with a C7 RS6 medical car following the grid round and as they went past us by the start finish after a full lap the RS6 was still effortlessly stuck to the back of the racing Aston’s. To see a family estate on a race track sticking with full on race cars was pretty entertaining. I just wish he’d have been able to overtake, I’d love to have seen where he’d finished.

Lol! Thanks, sounds awesome

Pretty funny about the C7 med car keeping up!! Hmm, I'll have to do at some point.

Two things are a must at Le Mans - Guiness tent in the evening (it always goes mental in there after around 8pm) and the champagne tent from lunchtime on Saturday.
As you can see, the champagne tent is quite popular with my group.......
And here are some more photo's of the efforts people go to with their cars:

So who's going and when then?
I'm on the Friday morning tunnel at 8.50am and staying in the Pistonheads Bleu Nord private camp site. Can't wait!
