Been pining for another track day - Donny with you chaps last time around was great.

Sadly this is the day after my wife is due to pop so booking a track day probably isn't a wise move

Looks like I'm going to the same event (in sync24's old car)! Just booked last night.

Looking forward to it!

First trackday I'm doing so I've booked tuition for the morning. I read the trackday guide on the forum and will be buying my own helmet. Any additional advice to prep the car? I'll be putting the original wheels and part worn tyres back on (without spacers), also worth changing oil/brake fluid? Discs and pads are all in good shape.

Buy a couple of balaclavas to keep your helmet fresh, keep an eye on your levels including petrol, and check the wheel nuts are tight!

Apart from that have fun.

What is Kev driving nowadays? Did he say he was buying a Datsun like Phil? Pretty sure he told us at the time but I've forgotten. And how are you Kev?

& ask Kev to explain the on track rulings of a Blue Flag??

Only things i'd add are build your speed up as your confidence builds & not the other way round. You'll likely encounter some very average cars going quicker & all that demonstrates is they've very likely got more track experience & confidence so don't see Red & give chase as this rarely ends well.

Unless you're car's due a fluid change i'd not suggest that's important, just check fluid levels are OK but most important that your tyres & brakes have more than sufficient life left in them.

As for Helmet, just make sure it's a helmet certified for car use.

Hey Mike!

 to hear from you.

The rumors are true!! - I am driving a '03 black bread van civic typeR EP3. It's a tatty old thing and I don't care much for it however it does have ....

232BHP @ 8000 RPM - Tuned by cplracing [hondata ECU/RBC and Piper inlet/exhaust manifolds and a CAF] - sounds EPIC when on VTEC :nodder:
Quaife LSD - transformed the car

GolfR is due in Sept - very much looking forward to it!

Hello mate - hope you are good?

The Golf-R has been getting some amazing press - I did watch the EVO video plus also the R has just won TopGear Magazine hot hatch of 2015
The typeR is much fun but the R will be great - I took one for a test drive and I was genuinely amazed by it - such a sublime motor just wish it would hurry and and get built
Of course there will be some tinkering [Like lowered VW motorsport springs prior to collection] and at some point I am sure a tune will be had - another 60 or so BHP is easily obtained combined with the DSG it will be a real road weapon. I very much hope to keep the typeR for track day duties though

Hey guys, has anyone booked a garage I can borrow at the end of the day, to swap wheels over for the drive home? Tried to book one but all sold out.

Looking forward to this, and at the same time terrified I'll smash the car to bits! I think Kev might cry harder than I would if that did happen...

We have a garage booked mate - I am sure you can share some space ETC

As for crying - I cried the day you changed the wheels! :-)
