Trackday / Ring gadgets

Does anyone else use any gadgets I might like for trackdays etc?

I use Harry's Lap Timer (http://www.gps-laptimer.de/) for the data recording, linked to an XGPS160 for accurate GPS (http://gps.dualav.com/explore-by-lifest ... g-etc-new/), and a GoPoint BT1 for telemetry data (http://gopointtech.com/products/). The XGPS160 is needed as GPS reception at the ring is flaky at best in some parts.

Harry's lap timer controls my wifi GoPro 3+black, and I use the forward facing camera in the iphone mounted to the screen to give me picture in picture video (gopro is main camera, iphone facetime camera recording cockpit video) with GPS and vehicle telemetry overlaid on screen.

I'm a bit of a gadget freak so if anyone has anything else I might like please share as I love a bit of tech!

Same set up as you. Was looking last night at the new gopro 4 session. Looks tidy and really practical!

2x DriftHD's for the camera, a 10Hz GPS bluetooth receiver and a Nokia N95 with RaceChrono App for timing. I've no Telemetry app though and could really do with upgrading the racechrono to the android version when they release the full version with 0-60mph etc (currently missing).

***EDIT*** - Found an old pic, added/swapped some bits over since.

Have not seen a Nokia N95 for while - almost brings a tear to the eye! It was Nokia's first mass market GPS equipped phone - my team worked for over 5 years to develop a small and cheap enough GPS solution to go in this phone. Though the handset team positioned the antenna at the bottom of the phone which is not great for recieving tiny satellite signals from overhead :bash: so GPS sensitivity was not great - hence i guess why you are using a GPS/BT module.

I was with Nokia 18 years .... but now Nokia is gone. Unbelievable how quickly they disappeared.

Yeap, plus I needed the extra accuracy of the 10Hz for timing as I was part of a few tarmac rally teams in Scotland a few years back doing all the in-car camera, GPS, telemetry & photography which is why all my kit is a minimum of 5-6 years old but the N95 has been perfect, such a good phone.

As I mentioned above it all needs an upgrade now as it's starting to show it's age.
