I used one when I went down the runway (0-160 vid clip) and it worked fine... problem is the seats, rearview mirror etc get in the way and the mount I used didnt work so well with the sunroof either... but different mounts be different I suppose.

Anyone on the vag-com vs. timing gear at Santa Pod (or similar) comparison?

I wouldnt mind doing this... I could give it a try I guess? But in the moment you are sooo hyped up that remembering to get everything together in time is a bit tricky. Ideally a passenger needed but that wont help times. It does not have to be a all out best time attempt I guess, be good to compare pod time vs. VAG-0Com time and see how accurate it is.

I'll have a go at this, and a fixed video camera on the dash, facing back etc. as well.

With the vag-com, you just need to press go when you are staged and it starts measuring when you move.

Do they allow passengers ?

I'm not sure how many runs we can get if it's busy.

Seen the weather forecast :( average I guess. http://uk.weather.com/weather/local/NN2 ... 2=7xa&y=11

No passengers at Santa Pod. There is a good FAQ etc here: http://www.rwyb.co.uk/

Nice write up on the staging (lights) process and what you are meant to do. Basically once green you go when you are ready.

Weather looking bright for Sunday by BBC, but too soon to tell: http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/5day.shtml?id=2846

Now it's been a while since I have been so this is a suggestion, but it worked for the group the few times I have been. Some of us are spectating only and we are arriving at different times but I suggest everyone enters the venue as shown, not stopping at the car park. It will be much nicer if we can try and get parked up together. On a regular RWYB day this is highly likely to be possible.

The picture looks like it was from a busy event - marquees etc up everywhere. It wont be like that. The blue cross I have marked I think is the greasy spoon cafe on site. If we at least all park around this side of the venue, hopefully we will be able to group together when not in the queue for runs.

So does that mean we should all say we are running so as to not be sent in to the car park?

They dont usually operate the main carparks for RWYB events so you should be able to drive Straight round. There is plenty of parking area at the cafe/pits side of the track. The area at the bottom of the pic where cars are parked is all tarmaced now.

See you all there.

Make sure you all take your licences with you

I'm not sure if I'll be running my car, my mate Toby will be racing his Caddy so I might stick to video duty but then I suspect I'll get bullied into racing at some point during the day :D

Cheers David, should be a good day out. Hopefully won't be too busy as last time I went I had to queue for about 2 hours...

I planned to get my exhaust and intercoolers sorted before this but waited a month for some parts from Demon Tweeks. Nothing fancy, just some pipe and fastenings. I've canceled the order now :( Get the bits elsewhere...
