Agreed fanatastic day out only managed two runs as had to leave early both lousy starts and missed 3rd on the second managed 14.33 and 97.5.

However not so good was the fact that when back in my home area and driving alaong a favorite piece of road i decided to practice the aforementioned 2nd to 3rd change hit 5500 rapid change up then nothing car dead and lifeless. also whinning at 2500 rpm, me thinks it is the turbo gone, although there hasnt been any signs of turbo noise previously.

could it just be a blown hose or is that just wishful thinking, will try and get to S$woody's tommorrow to have a look

Any ideas (looks like I could be following DaveT with the KO4 upgrade.)

Let's hope not. Pipe seems the most likely.

Lots of fun. Ok, my rubbish 14.1 time is pretty poor  , but I only did a couple of runs and lost all my time on the starts - I was way too soft on the car. Stevett's tt is quick though - his start on my second run was even worse than mine, but he surged past during the run.

I've never been to a dragstrip before - Santa Pod's is on a slight rise (surely that robs a tenth or two), and yesterday there was a pretty strong headwind (yet more tenths gone?), so congrats to Stevett on his new pb in those conditions (of course the extra bits on his car helped too!)

There were loads of fantastic cars there, but the little dull grey Ford Anglia (untouched externally, but fitted with a 2.0 16V Vauxhall engine), regularly running 14secs, beating many hot hatchs and Jap coupes was HarryPotteresque.

Did anyone see the Jag roar its engine and light up its tyres massively prior to the start. But on launching, it lamely crawled to a halt just over the start line as the driver simply couldn't see anything due to the cabin still being full of tyre smoke!

Could only stay for a few hours before dashing off home again. But I will definately try again with a better start technique, and maybe a touch more power :D

Which rwyb event looks like being the next one for rs246ers?

hi guys just a quick note to say what a nice bunch of blokes you all were ,none of the snobbery i have come across in other meets that ive been to,quattro steph had me and my mates in bits with his dry sense of humour 1 liners and his accent.First time ive ever done the qtr mile in my car got to admit i was a little nervous but give it a go and came home with a 12.7 qtr mile time which i was very pleased with. Thanks to minhea and doug for sorting car and look forward to the next time we all meet up cheers ashley
