Do any of the 'regulars' at Donnington know how far the nearest shell optimax petrol station is from the track? I found one on the shell site, just north of the circuit, but it looks like it's on dual carriageway - is there an easy way to get to this one?

that's the one we have previously used, Nige. Dunc likes to scrape his wheels there also! there is a back way there to the A50 via Castle Donington village I seem to remember.

Otherwise, if you're really stuck, there's a BP which does Ultimate at east midlands airport, and another at the motorway services. (Airport usually cheaper though).

Previous times I'd been I had a diesel, so didn't worry too much about which fuel I had.

IIRC the Optimax is off the A50. There is a station at the airport, but we always seem to fill up onsite (costly, but when you realise you only have 5 miles left there isn't much choice!!)

Says nothing about signing up on the day phil.

I assumed that was just for your car on track.... The rest needs to be booked asap.

PhilT,

I have decided not to track the car this year, but would love to come along and meet the guys, watch the action, etc. Sadly, cant make the dinner as work the next day and unfortunately cant work from the hotel wireless system, with or without a hangover!

First question then is : are "spectators" welcome?

Second question is : I have 3 boys who are also car nuts (well 4 actually but the other one will be on holiday). 2 of them have already met some of the RS246 boys and are totally into the whole thing and are itching to come along. So, are "children" welcome? Ages : 13, 15, 20. If so, what is the age limit for the hot laps?

PS MrsH not interested as she doesnt like "red cars" although she does now watch Top Gear!

You're right, but I've got 50ltrs of millers and a race programme estimated to produce 1002bhp on 200 octane

jr, I wonder what the GT3 is like with a sprinkling of snow?

Hi Guys, and girls,

Been away for a bit, now back...

Some will remember I had new turbo's fitted, as I blew the last lot at Donnington.

Hopefully will be able to make the day time stuff (track and Hot Laps) but will have to get a pass with HID, or possible bring her along with the Porsche.

Will confirm overthe weekend.

Also have another couple of friends, who have shown an interest in the day. Will get them to confirm directly with you.

Car passengers must be 16 or over. Spectators, I assume, can be any age.

Just check the passenger age thing......... I had a small problem at Silverstone, where normally it was over 16, but for some reason they have now changed this and made it 18, I got away with it cos the small print stuff still had 16 printed on it..........

The pack I have for the 11th clearly states "16s and over".
