She like one of my tyres at the mo. Smooth, not as groovy as she used to be, slightly rounded, and very slippery when wet!!!

Hi Steve,

No offence meant, and yes it still has a cosworth engine.

Unfortunatly everyone was telling me who's old car it was, even though the Reg has changed. I know where it came from, your name is on the V5.

In the end it was just like someone coming up to you and your girlfriend / wife and saying I know her didn't she use to be with ......

It gets a bit much after a while, and yes she is going well, no one passed her and no one could catch her. (Now that should start a debate!!!)

Shame I couldn't go, would have been nice to have dual RS 6 representation. How'd the barge stand up to the track? Handling any good in the wet?

Like you, I consider myself a good road driver (who doesn't?), but that's mostly on roads I know back-to-front. I think I'd probably kill myself (or poop myself) if I got let loose on a track...

I'm afraid auto trans are no good for the track, cannot hold gear.... You need a manual box, otherwise it will change mid-corner (not a nice experance)

Chubby, I'm intrigued (must see a doctor about that )

How come everyone recognised your car if the reg had changed ?
What is so unusual about it ?
Surely there are other red RS4s about.

I've seen a few other standard noggy rs4s around as well as mine, and to be honest if you parked them all in a car park & took their plates off I'd have to look very closely to pick mine out.

Cheers,
John.

Nice idea!!!

The Rs4 is such a heavy car that in order to have things in my favour, I would choose a track like Donny or Oulton (the full track at Brands would be the best ) and have it dry.

Problem here is you are not allowed to race each other (instant end of day) so it would have to be time trials, which will usually go to the fastest car.

Racing on the other hand is different, you can have a slower car and win buy making it so wide down the starights no one can pass, on the other hand a car which is fast but is driven by someone who doesn't know how to corner properly is usually also impossible to pass, unless you want to stick it down the inside of a corner and hope that the other chap backs off (again instant end of day).Racing is about getting in front and staying there - Give me a Caterham 7 and usually I'll win.

Which brings us back to the real question, do you want to find out which car is quicker, which driver is quicker or do you want to race?

If you do want to race it can be arranged, bikes, carts (not go-karts) or cars - but it will cost you more money, unless you fancy an illegal street race???

Wheel arch covers at the mo, bloody great holes in them!!! Soon to be changed.

Some were looking at the VIN number - very sad.

Some the brakes - I have put on the same as was on there when SteveRS4 had it.

And some just know!!!!

Steve went to alot of trouble to do those holes, theyre for extra airflow when tracking the cat to the brakes, if you bung them up the brakes will over heat.
Suggest you leave well alone

Don't worry John, holes will not be bunged up, got new under wing liners with the car, so will be coming off with the Audi wheels and the Sportec's will be put on.

One question though,if it IS such a good idea, why hasn't anyone else done it???

Just a thought!!!

Also this is my work car, I do have other toys, but need the RS4's space in the back to get work things in. However for trackdays I am looking in to a few other cooling methods for the brakes as already discussed.

Regards,

Chubbs.
