I'd love to come along but was wondering whether there will be a noise limit imposed as my race system is quite loud. Also i've never done any track stuff so would be a complete novice, does this matter?

Hi Ryan,

The noise limit is 98dba for Donington (Some lady complains about the cars creating noise polution... Wonder if she has selective hearing with that airport so close by?!?!?!). Great track for track virgins and professionals, hence why we love it and chose it.

Would be good to see you there

It usually doesn't matter because at these sort of events nobody (I would hope!) wants to destroy their car. It's all about driving "the line". If you're in the Novice run group, there should be no pressure to drive faster than you're comfortable with. I am sure there will be experienced copilots around to show you the ropes.

I'm quite active in open wheel racing in the US, however I've never (other than two laps around the "Ring") been on the track with a RHD drive car - so I'll be a novice as well.

Unless you have a single box system, S3 is unlikely to trouble the noise limit...........my RS4 with cats and miltek gets to 96dbs

Hi Simple,
It is a actual racing system i did go for the optional centre silencer box and am running a very large sports cat but it is loud(sounds wonderful at full chat).I wonder if i popped up to Donnington i could get it tested?
I'd really love to come along but don't want to get turned away because of the noise.

Get a check first, and then you may be able to pay on the day.

There are ways around the noise problem, but not ones that should be shared here.

You will be fine.
