Steve 10/10

I suggest as per post above Hoverspeed
Saturday 10am sailing
Sunday trackday
Monday return to Calais top up with booze
6.30pm sailing

That way we get a deal as it is a "3 day trip"

Nurburgring is 436 miles from Le Mans - might be a little to far on this occasion

True but closer (for most) and cheaper than a separate trip to the ring.

Just a suggestion.

On a side note, the Bugatti track is getting a brand new tarmac.
5000 tons of material to cover the full 4.180km.
ETA : mid-february.

Where is Le-Mans? I need to know distance from:-

a. Calais - lemans

b. Amsterdam - lemans

I have a ferry crossing 5 mins away in N.sheilds crossing to Amsterdam. Its over 720 miles the round trip from home to calais and back for me.

5,000 tonnes - sounds alot doesn't it. It will probably equate to a 2mm coating (if that) over the entire length of the circuit.

Assuming the track is 15m wide on 4200m, that would make about 1.2ton of material for each "slice" of 1m * 15m or around 80kg per square meter of tarmac.
Doesn't sound out of range either.

Updated list (Jan 28):

Drivers
- John Roberts
- KCSUN
- RS4Steve
- Taipan
- FatCat
- TimJMS
- TarmacTerrorist

Passengers

Please use the Lodging Only thread to confirm your choice of room at your earliest convenience (limited availability at 30€/night).

For those willing to check road map and distance, here's an online travel computer (click on the UK flag) : http://www.mappy.com
(The overnight Portsmouth - Caen ferry can be very convenient for some as Caen-Le Mans is only 170km drive)

Amsterdam -> LM = 714.3km

Calais -> LM 496.9km

Long crossing, Gav.

LM is west by south west of Paris.

Portsmouth - Caen/Cherburg run reduced crossings till April also the weather plays an important part if you are likely to chuck up everywhere

Hoverspeed 1ST is THE only way to go

Eric

Is the track day "open pit lane"
or
divided into fixed sessions of 20minutes

How many cars in total are you expecting?
