My interest is any performance gain and if the boost/torque comes in earlier as I read can happen with a decat so perhaps has an effect with less restrictive cats.
Go for it Graham.

It's the best chance you'll get to compare cars like for like on what looks like a great Rolling Road.

Are you getting your map adjusted for the changes to the exhaust?

Tempting Mark. That's the thing, the dyno is the same type as I used before locally, but I know there is bound to be a tollerance between them, so not good for a before and after. A great comparison between cars on the day though.

Even going back to the same dyno after all this time wouldn't give you a true comparison.

Good arguments Mark, I like it! I'll see how my peak MAF reading looks in a few days and see how it feels and decide from there.

Been there before and haven't been impress at all about the fans wish are big it is true but while running at full steam someone can stand easily front of any of them......Drive at 70 mph and put your hand outside the window and you will feel the force of the air pushing really hard.

I do know it is really hard to recreate exactly driving condition for a rolling road. For cars cars with sides mounted IC i don't think their fans are up for the job......for atmo cars like M5, M3 non turbo cars they will be fine.

Simon !!!!!!!!!!! i am not drunk at all, actually i never drink.....Ze only think i drinky is ze Bordeaux or ze beaujolais!

Hmm, the fan at the place I used was lethal! I dare say you could stand in front of it, but you would be leaning your body towrrds it to do so. You'd also be wearing ear defendors or directly in it's line you would be deafened. There were also two seperate hose fed air supplies to the intercoolers.

Odd to read as the cooling is Thorney's claim to fame on their website.

I'll post up my before exhaust and after exhaust logs tonight in my Exhaust thread- if we think there is enough of a timing difference or something etc to indicate a likely power increase I may add my name. Based on FATS and peak MAF, I'm not really sure I have gained anything much to warrant another run. Discuss this in my other thread if you want.

Apart from you Mark, what other K03 S4s have we on the list?

I think I have only gained about 10BHP peak, but I am interested to see if there is any change from peak to redline and also if the boost and torque curves have altered shape at all.

David - if I may add myself to the reserves list please (on the condition I assume we get power, torque, boost and lamda plots).

David - can I confirm what plots we will be getting? Power vs torque, power vs boost (they may need a supply of small cable ties to reattach DV vacum pipes), power vs lamda etc?

Also I know I would prefer my plots, if I should get to run, to be power at the wheels, are we going to stanardise one way or the other on the day, leave it to the individual or are both going to be avilable?

Any thoughts here folks - I think it's a great plan to weigh the cars but any ideas on getting suitable equipment for the day?
