It's the time it takes to accelerate between 4200rpm to 6500rpm in third gear using WOT on a flat road, usually run in both directions and then averaged. I'm learning fast (fats?). It's a good indication of performance and a bhp figure can be estimated from it using a FATS calculator (such as the VAST Performance one: http://www.vastperformance.com/faq.php) if the weight of the vehicle is known, hence David's request for some scales.55JWB wrote:Sorry to show my ignorance... but FATS??
My FATS time was done last weekend and I got a 3.44 second time, but not sure of the weight.
