Donington Open Pit on Friday 17th August
Re: Donington Open Pit on Friday 17th August
Do they still have the same db sensors in the same places? I had a car that was well over 100db so had to lift at the sensors and never got caught.

They do have 105dB days though they are a little more expensive I believe (and sold out very quickly!).
Yeah, sensors are in the same place and the marshall did give me a bit of "advise" on how to modify my driving - the last session I knew I was going home so it was a bit naughty to knowingly do it but it was only 0.4/0.5 over the limit!
Combe in a couple of weeks (Forge Action Day) and following some recommendations gonna go for a day at Oulton Park I reckon

I really like oulton - a technically challenging circuit I prefer it to donington. Shell oil hairpin corner is great as its banked at 11 degrees. Its quite relentless as it feels like corner after corner and probably flatter lighter cars but speeds relatively low so not so hard on the car.
Just remember when you are flooring it past the pits and trying to give the spectators an aural treat that the first right hander is sharper than it looks and you can stumble into it carry a fair whack of speed!
Worth trying Silverstone arena circuit - very hard on the car (ESP brakes) so worth doing frequent cool down laps during any session. But you'll probably not have a faster track and always great to drive tracks you see on the telly
