Hi guys,

Sunday is good with me. The PH is called the Railway Tavern is in the main street thro' Kelvedon. As you will be coming up the A12, come off @ junction 23. Carry on that road (B1024) for probably 1/2 to 1 mile. PH on right.

As for timings; how does 11.00am sound?

Got the car back, but it has to go back to the paint shop again........more of that when we meet.

Mac

PS For you other RS owners/enthusiasts out there, you would be more than welcomed as well.

Good to meet up with you two today - nice to know i'm not the only "audi-freak" in the village!! Got stuck behind the SAME horse + cart on the way home so 5min blast turned into 20 min crawl.. This thursday's Pistonhead meet is at the Lodge on the A132 half way between Wickford + South Woodham Ferrers with the entrance on the Left if you comming from the A12. ( www.the-lodge-country-inn.co.uk ) People normally start arriving about 7-7.30ish and the venue is shared with the Local Subaru boys. Would be good to have some quality more Audi's there. Jamie

Hi Jamie/Mac - yep good to have a chat and talk about meaningful things in life, Like RS Audi's !!!!

Jamie - Sounds like your journey home was almost as bad as mine as I encountered the London - Southend charity bike ride throught the lanes. Loads of fat blokes in lycra sweating like pigs and getting my way....

Thursday night should be fine by me, considering its only 2 miles away... Will you & Mac be coming along ? Let me know and i'll bring along some of that Viro-sol wheel cleaner for you guys to try...

Hi Jamie & Neil, it was good to talk about the serious things in life for a change.....wish I had taking a pic though, showing Jamie looking into the inside of one of my exhaust pipes seeing how clean & polished it was. Are you going to clean the insides of yours next? (surely you can't be as sad as me) - I will check them on Thursday!!

My trip back was a blast up the slip road onto the A12 and then....well that was it....50-60 all the way back.

If you are going Thursday Jamie, I will travel thro' Tiptree and follow you down if you want.

Thanks again for meeting - quite historic really, probably the first RS meet in Essex.

Mac

PS Thanks for the sticker Neil.

If you guys are up for Thursday, suggest we meet at the Shaw Farm PH (1mile from the Lodge) at 7.30pm ?

Its en route from Tiptree and you have to go past it (final roundabout before the road leading to the Lodge).

Mac - make sure you place that sticker on dead straight. I will bring my laser spirit level along on thurs just to check....

Jamie - get polishing those exhaust pipes......

Neil - Shaw Farm Meet up is fine for me. Mac- Where in Tiptree do you want to meet - Remember,I've only lived in this bit of Essex for 8 weeks!! Am gutted i have the dirtiest pipes (oh-err missus) but can confirm they are only single ovals + not 2-in-1 stylee like yours Mac! Quite bizarre to think that the first Essex-RS meet still had over 1200BHP in the car park!! See you guys thursday.

Jamie - how about @ the Shell garage in Tiptree near the B1023/B1022 junction (I can top up with oil then).
My pipes are so clean because the missus cleans them.....don't like to get my hands dirty....

Neil - will get my body shop/coach builders to put the sticker on....it will be soooo perfect then....

Neil - your quite right about the different advice on oils. I have spoken to Dave @ Audi Chelmsford (helpful guy) & he says the only 'official' oil that Audi recommend is Castrol SLX Longlife III. This would cover your car as well. If you go say into Halfords they will probably tell you that this has been replaced by Castrol Edge. However this is not the case, SLX III is still available, but usually only thro' the VW/Audi network.

The specification (i.e SAE 5W-30 VW 504 00 / 507 00) on the back of both SLX & Edge bottles is the same!

Whether this is marketing on Audi's part I don't know. The cost is roughly the same (approx £15) per litre.

If you want some SLX, I may be able to get it cheaper for you.
