Its pretty simple really,
Organise an event
Put the feelers out to see who might be interested
The people who say the will commit send a cheque
or some kind of payment.
Not what some people are doing which is blatantly having no regard for the others who have paid(SATAN inc) and the fact that it wont actually take place until Thorney gets his money (he will actually book a whole day without any other work taking place once he gets that money BTW)
My attitude is down to over 6 years of oranising events (some of the long standing RS246 members will know)
Personally guaranteeing with my own money (large amounts in some instances) to put events on.
Only then to find out that some minorities dont pay up or even show on the day.
Tombs you should know better than to have a go, im sure you have had days where you have been waiting for that elusive cheque to pop through the letter box!

And why should I know better than to have a go, you were blatantly rude and imo sticking your oar in. You would have not have said what you said to my face. John I didn’t ignore David T on purpose. I’ve apologised to David T for not reading the post properly originally, I skimmed through it and assumed I would be contacted via pm or email once he had the numbers. I don’t read every post on this forum, and I didn’t follow this thread until I was contacted by another member on here yesterday.

I appreciate all your efforts (and the other RS246 crew) for the keeping this forum going, I hope I’ve been a decent contributor and I have always tried to support this site in many different ways. I made a mistake in not reading the post in which I’ve apologised for, but I don’t expect the founder of this site to call me a tosser.

Julian Vs JR....ummmm (reaches for the Popcorn) my money is on JR (by cheque of course !)
Jeff - exactly WTF are you on about????
Not what some people are doing which is blatantly having no regard for the others who have paid(SATAN inc)
Fair enough - but still think you could've worded your original post better: calling "everyone" a "tosser" and suggesting that "everyone" should be told to "<beep> off" was out of order which ever way you look at it. I appreciate your point about organising events, and the financial risks inherent in such activities - but the RS246 "crew" are often to be seen moderating/deleting posts deemed as inappropriate and I would categorise your post as one of those. Is this a case of double-standards? If so then it's wrong, especially considering that the poster is a founder crew member...

2nd that - the reserve guys have shown a clear interest and one has even offered to pay - it's a no-brainer IMO. Otherwise this event won't happen ... then we'll ALL be pissed off.

What I was on about, Julian, is your normal belligernet posting style verses JR's even shorter style. I was amused that you objected to someone using language that you yourself use to get a rise out of other people on this forum.

normal belligernet posting style
Nah Jeff - never belligerent (not "belligernet" as per your post - is that some kind of strange network??); erudite, eloquent, articulate, arrogant yes ... but belligerent no.

And FYI - what I was actually objecting to was being called a tosser when I had actually paid - simple really.
using language that you yourself use to get a rise out of other people on this forum.
Now you've really lost me - when have I ever done that???

... I'm off to browse "the belligernet" ...

At least you could do me the honour of spelling my name correctly.....It is Jeffery. Before you argue I know how to spell my own name....my Dad on the other hand didn't do so well on the birth certificate.
