At my second visit to Spa recently Mike Wilds said to us "only liars and fools claim to have taken Eau Rouge flat". "Only cars with big wings and downforce can" - his words not mine. Anyway, he's right. I went round with Derek Bell driving my car. He said never try to take it flat, only hero's do and end up with a written off car. He braked hard for the first left at the bottom of the hill "to steady the car". Remember, you are in 5th by that stage !!

Oh, there was a TT there as well. Got completely written off coming out of downhill Pouhon.

It's a great track but its best not to try to be a hero. Enjoy yourselves.

Hi !
I'm belgian and I was at Spa yesterday, driving a black Lotus Elise mk2.
I had a lot of fun on the track, playing with some of the rs4 that were there :p
I'd like to know who is the driver of this car.

I think he'll remember me :D

Pics on my website...

Post by charlescrawley » Tue Oct 26, 2004 10:13 am

Hi all,

I'm putting together a page or two of pictures to put on my website and wanted to make absolutely sure that no one has a problem with pics of their cars being shown at speed on racetracks!
What's the general rule? I can hide numberplates if that makes things better or not put pics up at all if you're uneasy about it.
I'll, of course upload pics to the galleries here as well.

Cheers,

Charles
