Must admit to the odd bit of blue smoke this year. Had some serious breather problems leading to bad smoke output. But once i noticed it, i came off track, its not fair to others. Will sort it out and be there in october. Would be good if RS246 had a stand. There are a lot of members here and most of them are up for a good day out.

TT,

I spoke with the poor guy - he confirmed that he wasn't insured.

Superficial damage, nothing that cant be repaired.

2 - 2.5 k I reckon, had he had insurance he would probably be having to pay £1500 of that himself in excess and if his main policy is with the track insurer then a good chance of loosing his no claims.... cant win unless you total it.....
Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.

Agreed. Track insurance is a good idea tho. Insurance companies send scouts out to see what cars are out on track!! Then when you claim after your mishap they show the pictures of you crashing on track!! LOL

While I wouldn't wish the damage to his car on him, the lap before he went off I wasn't best pleased to find him piling up the inside of me on the entry to Old Paddock. Overtaking on the STRAIGHTS ONLY was the briefing.

I was the blue Corrado with black wheels and @rse-shaped dent in the drivers door. audiboy, were you the fella who leaned out of the MRC S2 saying "It's running like a f*&king bag of sh..." then spotted the family with the young kid nearby "oops, sorry"?

Credit to Autometrix, it seems they took on board the criticism from last years event (the worst I'd seen in 8 years of attending) - poor organisation, too many cars, long queues, etc and this year was much improved.
