S2 Forum Garage Meet

Post by Greg_S » Mon Jan 31, 2005 4:46 pm

I have arranged a meet at my dads garage on 26-27th Feb 2005. Its basically a chance for people to come along and work on their cars in the garage with free use of tools and equipment.

There was one arranged last year also which had a good turn out. If you feel like coming along to see what is happening please check the thread on the S2 forum out. If you fancy lending a hand that will certainly be a big help for those that are doing things to their cars.

the location of the garage is Baschurch in Shropshire, SY4 2EF. http://www.billsmith.co.uk

I'll be there. Hopefully sorting the caliper corrosion, fitting Samcos plus a few other niggles.

This was a real enthusiasts garage meet.
It was not about taking money it was about fixing cars and improving cars.
These s2 / rs2 people are serious mechs.
I stood in awe and then threw my self at it .
I estimate 24 hours of solid total suspension rebuild work, bearings, oil ,filters s shift, tracking ,cleaning, road testing and vag coms analysis- was done.
I got stuck in and learned everything I set out to learn and more.
£0 mad cars showed up non nonsense all with everything the owners could do being done. .Serious work
500bhp was closely attainable by the s2 members and many of them were near the mark.
I am now as a result of the meet dedicated to take on jobs many garages have said was too much for them with the assistance and confidence building that spread as a result of this meet. Genius solutions were there to fix Cock ups .
Thankyou all at s2 forum . Never have I experienced such hospitality. Even if I did not go to bed for two days.
The cars handling has improved by 50% on turn in and feels like a proper racing car. This suspension work is the dogs bol**cKS,
My car is no longer a barge . I could go on and on.

True friends of rs246.are acknowledged . Thankyou for the invite and the experience. I will be in contact in the future .

please: Phil don't elaborate , I hope its just my bad driving that's scary.

I'm back over at the garage to see John next weekend.
Fantastic fellow . Should have a good laugh on Saturday night :beerchug:

There is great satisfaction in finishing after 24 hours full on work on your car .
That picture was taken at around 10 am Sunday morning .
