Whatever

Not upset Phil just p'd off with the attitude, Personally I have never been to a free RR day and would not expect AMD etc to offer it free either.
Yes the point about a credit if you then book for work is a fair one and I will ask about that.

All the tuners get good and bad posts on the forums so don't see why any off them owe 246 more than any other forum ?

Its not a meet or a trackday but a RRoad day, seems to me that implies anyone wanting to attend would want a dyno plot, otherwise why bother ?

Yes would be a weekend

Gents, you can do all of this and more with VAG-COM, in real-world airflow conditions and without fantasy transmission loss guesstimates, using the very sensors that control your engines behaviour - from the horses mouth, so to speak.

Hell, I'll do it for £10 a car and give you more info, plots & charts than you know what to do with! :D

gotta agree with Prawn on this one,

the attitude really has surprised me............a guy listens to what his customers want and buys a 4wd Maha rolling road(not exactly cheap)then on its installation he realises that a mega expensive state of the art climate control system on the dyno cell needs to be fitted to allow sufficient cooling,to get representative, repeatable figures from a tuned RS4/RS6 etc, without having to wait two hours between runs for the cell to cool down,so he bites the bullet and invests in same, now realising that he's over budget by a factor of about 100%.After all this aggro, its finished,it works well(even better than expected) and oh,people think 50 quid is too expensive for a run on the rollers and feel it should be free........ :?

.........mmm.Its not a meet,it's not a trackday session too.As pointed out elswhere,i believe it is an oppurtunity to put your car on the rollers and see what its up to for £50 notes. I have not been to Kim's since he has had the RR fitted, but if i phoned up on Monday ( not today or tomorrow as he's shut  ) and he said i could have a session on the RR for £50 i would book it up.....

I am not too sure on the past history of MTM/Quattrosports/QST/and the involvement of RS246, but i suspect Kim has been earning a living for quite a few years regardless. However please correct me if i am wrong....

Maybe there is room for someone to set up another tuning house if there is that many calls for mods/upgrades.

If any one's car is not performing as it should on the day, they don't have to have the work done by QST, they could always take it to AMD,Dialynx,StarPerformance,or dare i say it, Audi.......Pays your money, takes your choice and all that....

Just my 'tuppence worth....

So if it's £50 for an RS4 (say 450 bhp on average) does that mean I can take the D reg polo on there (40 bhp) for a fiver!

If so, I'm up for it, should be a laugh, the plot would be interesting!

I don't remember people being concerned with the price when we went to G-Force in Aylesbury and that was £ 50 IIRC.

Put my name down for it, I will come along if I can.

Bit far for me just to see my car get thrashed on a dyno....but I wouldn't expect it to be free to be honest. Dunno what an average run on a car dyno costs, but I used to get my bike done for about 20 quid I think....I suppose it makes sense that a run on a car dyno costs a bit more than that...

Just my 2 cents...

FWIW, the Peugeot GTI club had a RR day at G-Force on Saturday - £30/car - that's more in line with most RR's I've been to. I wonder if there's an element of "Charge the expensive car owners more, they can afford it"?

It's not turbo or 4WD related (nor should it be, they're hardly cutting edge) as cars of those types were also present.

It's your money though, chaps...

AMD did a day for the TT forum a couple of weeks ago. It was £30/car and it was expected to be the last RR day as the incomes doesn't cover costs. £50 seems ok to me for a run. I'll stick the info up elsewhere (hopefully) tonight and I'm sure we'll get the numbers.

p.s. It might be worth getting a list going as otherwise we'll lose names in this thread.
B8 A4 Avant quattro
Honda CBR1100XX Super Blackbird
Suzuki GSXR1000 (Track bike)
B6 S4 (AMD Stage 3) - GONE
8N TT (APR/AMD/MTM) - GONE

£50 is high compared to other RR days I have to say but QST/AmD/Gforce make bugger all on these days (actually cost money if they normally do remaps on Satdees).

However, Kims a good guy and I'm sure the 'refreshments' will make up for it. :D

I might come along and see how the X5 does :P

Spoke to Kim, he is happy to offer a refund of the £50 if someone taking part in the RR day books in for work within the following 12 months, subject to that work being over £1000.
Seems fair to me.
Just to be sure can you PM me if you are interested and I will start a definative list, ideally looking at getting this done pre-xmas
