Was it as busy on track as the pictures make it look? How busy was the 'ring?
On one of the days we was there it took 40 minutes to get off!!
Bloody busy. Cars everywhere. Pics up soon...

I've been to busier track days.

To be fair the cars were well spread out most of the time, and with the exception of a few tw@ts most drove well, letting faster cars through without too much trouble.

the ring was a different story though. We got there around 10:30 and the place was heaving.
Longest wait to get off track for me was about 10 minutes (queues only got further back than the off-slip when the track was closed). Most of the time we rolled up the slip and only had to queue for a parking space.
Most cars on the track would get out your way too if you caught them. Shame the bloody bikes wouldn't do the same :bash:

For those that would like an idea of the cost of this weekend, I have added it up:

Dover Hotel - 48
Dover Food - 54
Crossing - 105
Spa (inc Lunch) - 155
Spa Hotel - 145
Fuel - 40
Fuel - 31
Ring - 17
Bar - 15
Ring Hotel - 216
Fuel - 43
Lunch - 10

Total = £879 for two people (One driver and one passenger)

Not bad at all when you count two track days, hotel x 4, booze, food, etc.

Would be great to see more of you next time....

worked out at 30 per person for us incl breakfast
Dover Food - 54
Crossing - 105
Our crossing was £198 for car, 2 people, and 1st class both ways.
Don't forget you got yours at a reduced price...

I reckon it cost me about 650 quid after Glenn's paid his bit.
I agree, not bad at all.

I think Kelly did very well to put up with us lot for the weekend.
I hope to take my wife next time. As long as she has other women
to talk to or we talk general bollox (like we did this time) rather than
cars all night she'll be fine.

Put me down for 2 tickets for LeMans would you, there's a good chap :bigblink:

I've not even started yet to count any costs, so I'm blissfully unaware at the moment.
As far as the women, the more the merrier, Jane was disappointed that she did not make LeMans in April and just as disappointed that she could not make Spa last week.

So any events in the coming year I think it a good idea to bring along our women, after all - they love us don't they

Put me down for 2 at LeMans

Just for comparison my three days and nights at the ring including ferry, food, accomodation, breakfast, BBQ lunch, tea/coffee/water at the ring, dinner including wine but excluding fuel, ring tickets and beer cost £450 for two people.

Glad you all seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully next year we can combine forces and have one big group. I took 5 other cars with me this year.

I was actually on about Audipassion, but the thought of a LM24 is a goer, only thing is the WO (and me) likes the creature comforts ) none of that sharing kharzi's in the middle of the night carrying a bog roll, whilst tripping over various shapes in a field.

Lemans without vomint, sweaty toilet seats, mobile discos's, the guys who always camp by us with their van full of german porn, the hum of their generator all night, the site of 50 year old men with pants on their heads dancing around a fire to level 42, Fireworks going of all day, the prick in his 7 who decides that the old go kart track is perfect for perfecting his drifting techique until he stuffs it, walking around half the night trying to find your way to the porsche curves, no chance of driving because you so pissed you can barely see.........

Ensuite !!!!!

Have you gone mad ?

Sort of puts things into perspective.......... I would like a mixture of the two, imagine.............. after loads beer, walking food, smoke, dirt, the rain etc etc..... and then nipping back for a bit sleep and 8) in a nice clean comfy bed, having a whazz only yards away, guarenteed hot water, putting on clean dry clothes and then nipping back for the cars & beer.

Give me the ensuite

Oh dear me no sir!

Le Mans without the discomforts would be a pale imitation! Anyway, that's why minivans have wheels... A wazz is only yards away!

Actually I do understand your point of view... The first year I went, I took a small nylon hoop tent and it was utter hell... We now mainly have large frame canvas tents:

Which are excellent. They stay cool in the heat, plenty of room for beds and clobber and you can stand up in them. Okay they weigh a bit, but that's what our minivan is for...
Cheers,
