My first proper track experience

Post by Dippy » Fri Jul 23, 2004 1:26 pm

I went to Thruxton yesterday for a track experience. It was extremely fun.

However what surprised me was that even though they have some serious road cars there (Porsche 911 turbo & some Ferraris), they were nothing in comparison to the amount of fun I had in the single-seater Formula Renault cars.

Now whilst I accept that in the hands of a racing driver, I'm sure that the Porche and the Ferraris should be kings of the track, in the hands of average drivers like me and the others, they were no match for the single-seaters.

I found it extremely enjoyable catching up with Porsches and Ferraris and getting them blue-flagged!

Strangely enough the experience has also made me LESS keen on taking my S4 to a track-day. I would far prefer to go in one of those single-seaters again!

Sounds like you had a great day, would very much like to have a go at something like that myself.
Too much is bad.
Plenty is better.
