Our Thanks To Audi Passion

Post by Joshie » Wed Mar 31, 2004 10:36 am

I posted on the audipassion.com site this morning to express our thanks for a great day and also to defend a little bit of heat which came the way of Tim and myself from one individual which is without any foundation. Without going into detail I believe there was some confusion with the idiot driving the M5 who was subsequesntly banned from the circuit and also some older M3's behaving rather badly too.

But the majority described RS246 behaiviour on and off the track as "fair play" and gentlemanly with a special reference to Tim after his tussle with one of the French drivers and a big thumbs up from him which was very much appreciated. Taipan also defended JR's/TimJMS and my trackday experience and although it wasn't necessary it was appreciated Eric.

If any of you want to review the thread you'll need to register and then for those of you with rather rusty French there is http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr to translate sections of text - if you're interested.

I think we'd all agree that the French people treated us with a great deal of courtesy and warmth and I hope we'll be able to return the warm welcome when we arrange the next RS246 trackday

Here are the URL's for the relevant threads although as I said registration may be necessary - check the first thread out - it is huge but there are some great pics. Also under the topic "sorties voitures" there are loads of photos of the RS246 trackday at Oulton Park.

Joshie, thanks a lot for your post on AudiPassion.com.

Just to confirm : there was absolutely NOT a single person complaining about Tim's and your driving style, on the contrary everyone was impressed by the rs246 crew gentlemen drivers attitude.
(The differents posts were actually refering to the E36 M3s, not to your E46 ones, sorry for the confusion)

Joshie - looks a fantastic circuit - its 450 miles south of Calais, for anyone considering the drive (6 hours I guess). Its Bank holiday weekend - I will go if there are enough brits intested - do we know track costs yet?

Track costs will be 130€ for rs246.com (190€ for standard participants), plus 20€ for lunch. There's a condition for getting the 130€ fee which I'll explain by pm to those interested.
I have no info on hotel costs yet, might be higher than 30€ this time.

An Audi Quattro instructor will attend again, I'll try and get a list of trainees ready so no one misses it.

Phew. Strewth! Had me really worried there for a while. Saw your first post hours ago Joshie, but didnt have time to reply. Glad all sorted now though.

Apart from the M5, The only other BMW I thought that was being reckless was an M3 (cant be more specific with model type numbers, I aint clued up enough yet!) with AC Schnitzer badging on the rear.

It was a real pleasure to meet Audi Passion members. Enjoyed my tussle with Alex (3.2tt DSG) enormously. :D Cant find his PM and my reply now so have lost his username!!???

Not going to be easy to make 2nd May, unless somehow the missus joins me (that would be the second speed limiter in my car then  ) and we can lose the bin lids for a few days!

We shall see. Big thanks once again Eric. It was all rather superb :D
