hmm.. according to the Haldex website, there is an alternative switch to lock the coupling for maximum traction. I'm going to email Haldex in Sweden and ask for more information about this.

Re: Rolling Road Meet
M3 CSL - Silver Grey, a few options.
Re: Rolling Road Meet
Ive also emailed G-force about further testing...
Re: Rolling Road Meet
Off-road
Instant activation with high torque transfer for maximum traction. Alternative, separate off-road mode (switch) to lock the coupling.
let us know what they say Simon.

@S3Mon
What engine spec is your S3 running?
How do you find the Haldex controller?
I have one here to try out,if I ever get time to fit the bloody thing!
Does it make the car more "taily" coming out of roundabouts and the like?
Interested in hearing your comments
Cheers

Re: Rolling Road Meet
Hi Tom
The spec is nearly the same as yours
Imola MY2000
MTM
Haywood and Scott exhaust
Samco hoses
110 dv reversed
N75 ECS
Phenolic manifold spacers
Underdriven lightweight pullies
Iridium power plugs
4-bar fpr
Modified airbox
Modified turbo air outlet pipe
The power output is 296bhp/363lbs@3500.
I would like to know how far you can push such a small turbo?
Tom just fit the haldex. It changes the car totally, its hard to explain but instead of been pulled around by your front wheels your thrown around in 4 wheel heaven.Your in total control of the car and you can power around
roundabouts in a 4-wheel drift/slide.
Let me know you get on.

Re: Rolling Road Meet
Simon,
I'm open to correction on this, but I think G-Forces Dyno is of the friction type, very common in the US,where lightened flywheels and underdrive pulleys are all the rage,as they increase the measured bhp on these types of dyno, whether they actually give any improvement out on the road I dont know.
To be honest, the only K04'd 1.8Ts I have seen to hit the 300bhp mark have been motors running bespoke management systems, like DTA or Motec.
What are the advantages of the manifold spacers?
Must stick that controller in over the weekend, sound like a big improvement

My offer of specially blessed stones by my dog for free still stands Who could forget the mythical Shakti on lines? The "mystic Meg" method of tuning......
The answer is all in the stones!
The answer was in the stones, no way
The answer was only obvious if you were stoned
