Excellent evening, with some serious motors - well 4 really, and they were all RS'ssss. Can I put them on the spotters sight?? Pics to follow....

But for all you diamond geezers that read this, and may be half interested in coming to some future meets, there was some serious metal including:

Ford GT (Ex JC car), Ferrari's, TVR's, Honda NSX, Porsche etc etc & this was just a small meet.

Oh, and I must mention my top car of the eve....a Ford Focus RS (sorry it's the chav in me - still can't get rid of my roots).

So, when you see our next post, either Essex/Suffolk or Pistonheads meets, take the plunge & come & join us - I'll even buy you a drink! :P

Mac

Jamie - owned the following Ford's: Ford Escort Harrier - Silver (remember that one...?), MK 2 RS2000 - Black, MK3 RS Turbo - Diamond White x 2 (my 1st carefully owned baby - it was sooo clean you could eat your breakfast from the top of the engine..& then some b*****d nicked it!!!) MK4/5 RS2000 (2WD) - Blue, and last but not least the RS Cosworth Lux - Auralis Blue (this was the REAL Gary car...)

That was the last one though...tried to get Gary's little brother (RS Focus), but the other half said I had to grow up....

.....that's why I now have an old man B7 estate - it was an easy sale to the other half - just 4got to mention the 4.2 engine etc etc etc

........did I here that there could be a new Cossie in '09?.....I will just have to tell 'her in doors' that VW/Audi have bought Ford & this is the new A3....! :)

Goodnight.

Hi guys, Good to see you all yesterday. definitely a case of quality over quantity!!!

Mac - you have had a fair colleciton of dagenham dustbins....We should all compare car histories. I'm sure I have had a few dogs in the past....

Jamie - good luck with the bulbs. Lety me know if you get into trouble...

Scott - Milltek's sounded AWESOME. I've secured the opurchase for the 100cpsi cats and downpipes. Just need to place an order with Doug to get the cat back system and then a jolly old trip to Banbury is in order. BLISS !!!

See you guys on Sunday 26th 11am Kelvendon ????

Neil - Dustbins.....!!??

Hey, if you think about it (I'm being serious), you could actually say we are all driving 'Gary' cars/ or the daddys of......; and thinking about this in more detail and on a personal basis, & why I have a B7; it's because they are related to all the 'Gary' cars.

Keep with me....Audi originally chose to name their high performance cars with 'Quattro'. Markets/Brands & times change etc etc....then they came up with the B4 in the 90's...& for the millinium to enhance brand/sales the B4, C5, B7 & next year the C6.

Of course you can't re-invent the wheel, but Audi wanted a suitable name for these fast machines.

Looking around it is not too hard to see a name/brand which says 'oh, that looks a bit special/different'....the name (you guessed it) and one that old Henry would be have been proud of, yes the RSsssssssssssss.

Yeah, that good old name that has been on the back of many of the dustbins you refer to....is now on the back of ours!!!??

Hey, I'm going to get out my old RS jacket from me chav days and start wearing it again...

So in a nutshell, I'm still driving around a (posh) 'dustbin' & quite happy...

PS: I do have a little list of griffins that I once owned :!:

Mac - I stand corrected!! Fab list of motors - 3-4 that are on my "one day" wish list... We will have to discuss "cars you have loved" at the next meet. I've made my excuses for the bank holiday with the missus so I'm deffo free for the Kevledon meet - 11 good for me.

Mac - I cast out the bait and you took it... hook, line and sinker:lol:

Whilst I have not had the opportunity of owning one of Mr Ford's finests, am currently on my nineth German car in succession (excluding the GT6) i'm sure my time will come, but at present there is nothing in the Ford family that excites me..Even the presence of Jezza Clarksons GT40 yesterday did nothing for me...

If there is a 'link', albeit a weak one, between the Ford GARY cars, and the RS range we so lovingly adore, then - I consider myself well and truly told off !!!
