Good day with lovely weather. Nice to meet some of you for the first time. Good to see I am not the only one with blue patches on my RS4 disks..have to get the 362 mm APs designed.

Nice drive there Simon...I did leave it a bit late overtaking that black Astra Coupe on the main road though! Brakes worked a treat

I have only 'roaded' my car twice. Power at the wheels was the same as Power Engineering (about 200 bhp) but the flywheel figure was different (PE=282bhp, G-Force=240). Either the software was not suitable for the 5-cylinder S2 at G-Force or PE didn't quite have the roller wheelbase right when mine was previously tested. I suspect a bit of both but the latter more.

The cooling suited the S2s a bit better on the day. With the central intercooler, the car was getting slightly more powerful with every run. Should have fitted that intercooler water spraying kit for hot weather use! Ambient air temp was 31 deg C!

Need another (different) rolling road session...SOON But hey, power at the wheels is the most accurate measurement and a good comparison point for mods.

SiTaS3, I live just north of Guildford so you can add another RS4 to the group.

Great day out and nice to meet up with everyone again including the new faces.

One thing I noticed was that all the standard RS4's produced stock figures, but all the turned RS4's where well down on what we where hoping to see.
So how can the 30c temp affect turned RS4 but not stock RS4?
Anyone got any thoughts?

Funnily enough me and the Mrs were talking about this today on the way down to Southampton - next thing, broadcast on the radio news was that nearly half of new cars sold in the UK are Silver..

Lee, the black Astra incident was interesting - he decided to boot it whilst i was overtaking but as you know we still managed it

My stab at this - tuned cars increase the boost/engine load significantly - therefore greatly compounding the heat problem - If you remember Mitch's data logging on Phil's car, this showed the engine load dropping off substantially whilst under max boost conditions (and about the time the intercooler temp shot up!) - therefore the ECU pulled back the engine load/power.

Whilst logging your car going down the road, your max intercooler temp rose to nearly 62C

The intercooler temp for Nick's stock RS4, stationary on the rollers, was about 40C - this rose to a max of 59C for the first run, then a max 63C for the second run at about 6600 revs, but only using about 1.1 bar of boost

Great to meet everyone new and old Learnt a lot of stuff on Saturday, and thanks to everyone for sharing thoughts. Its always interesting.

TurkS4 - great picture in front of the pub. My current wallpaper

Big thanks to SitaS3 for interrogating everyones ECU's. Very reassuring for everyone to know if things were safe to proceed. Slightly disturbed about my buggered crankshaft... is that an important component?

More big thanks to PhilT for installing my DV's so expertly. Your hard - gained experience has paid off... for me

FatBoy - thats the first black one I have liked. Stunning when clean. I LOVE the changes in the engine. It pulls very much like my old S4 did low down now, but far MORE MORE MORE!!!!! Find it hard to believe, but I am averaging nearer 20mpg now... Long term I have always hovered around 17mpg.

Shame about not being able to get proper readings for true new power outputs, but at the same time reassuring to know that all engine protection protocols are in place.

Karl - the shifter is great. Its been said before, and I am saying it again! Many thanks. Much more like a Scoob now
