Max Power with new exhaust system

Post by SpeedJunky » Sun Sep 16, 2012 10:32 pm

HI Guys,
I know this sort of subject has been covered before many times, but its always worth revisiting to make sure, certainly in my case to see if there are alternatives....

The default exhaust replacement for the RS4 B5 is of course the Miltek.

I am interested in replacing my exhaust. Now I see lots of articles about this, and a Cat-Back system and remap seems a popular choice.

I am interested in a Turbo Back conversion, I think I read somewhere this chap got about 460BHP doing this, but of course it was a Miltek, though I forget if the downpipes were....

Anyway, are there any alternatives to Miltek as they are f**kin expensive. I do understand you get what you pay for, but the prices I have been seeing for a full Miltek are around the £2200 mark, that is expensive in anyones book. Is there some reasonable cost quality alternative that can deliver 95% of the benefit of the Miltek? Or are the Milteks so untouchable?

Any advice would be greatly receieved.

Thanks.

Ive got a Jetex system which was about £500 + Wagner DP's which were about £800. Still a lot of money but you can always go gutted DP's to save a few quid.
