Newbie after some views on colour and spec...

Post by Fulla » Wed Jan 25, 2012 10:01 pm

:bigwave: Hi all - I am starting to research the potential purchase of an RS4. It'll be used regularly and will see plenty of our M roads and will replace a RR Vogue.
I am new to Audi RS's but do own a couple of 911's and am aware of the specs and colours that can affect a 911's resale but not an RS4.
So thought I'd come and ask you lot here. So are there colours to stay away from? Are there any must have extras? What is thought of modified cars? Are there specialists that will travel to do pre-purchase inspections and who is the best?
Had a look through various posts and the FAQ but couldn't get the answers I was after.
Thanks for your help.

Jamie.

I would avoid goodwood green if im honest, the rest of the colours are great! Interior wise black on black is great as are the hi tech and in certain colours the silver leather works really well. I am a fan of the carbon inserts and prefer them to the piano black or the alloy but this is my preference.
Spec wise, the more options the better but nothing stands out, im sure there is an options list on this forum so maybe have a look at that and pick off of it what you would spec and then gett looking for a car with them.

JJB Bahnstorm and Unit 20 are the best specialists and im sure a chat with them would help you out alot, they would also confirm pre-purchase inspections.

Thank you for the reply, I didn't think I was going to get one!
I looked at a Misano Red car this week. Didn't realise it was pearlescent which was a nice surprise. I have a 993 and the entry is buy on condition then spec so I am employing this thought process.
I like the look of the red car at Fountain but would rather have a darker outside colour. Still it seems to have had money spent recently and is low mileage. 5 owners which seems allot but if it has been a 2nd or 3rd car I can understand it. Thank you for the details of the pre purchase guys, I use Peter Morgan for my Porches and it is invaluable. Any other places to go for info such as online forums or garages who sell the cars?
Thank you again, Jamie.

I have misano and I love the colour. Nogaro blue is also up there.

The fontain one does sound like very good value with that mileage. I haven't seen it in the flesh though, so can't comment on it's condition. I prefer my black leather to cream or silver

I did look at 3 a couple of weeks ago. All pretty rough if I'm honest. I wouldn't worry too much about amount of owners. Personally I think it's better as owners tend to look after their cars more when they first own it...

Can only echo what has been mentioned, Goodwood green can be hard to sell on.

Only like the Imola Yellow car, really dislike the orange RS4 because the guy ruined a perfectly good Nogaro Blue B5, the wheels are horrid as well and WTF is that Harlequin equivalent, that is shocking.

Hi Fulla
I noticed a pm regarding Rs4, nice selection of cars by the way. I was after a 993s myself for some time but to be honest, I'm a stickler for paying a premium for a quality car and my budget was just to far stretched and started to delve into 996 gt3 fields. Anyway moving on I have for sale a 44k Misano Red Rs4 B5 for sale with Nick Johnson. I payed £21500 for it last year and the car is genuinely the cleanest car on the market.it has all the desirable spec,Misano Red, black leather, carbon trim, 3 owner full service history, full uk car (list goes on).... Totally standard except big brakes. If u considered PX on your 993s would be interested always wanted one. Would openly invite any specialist inspections. Many thanks Adam 07917 656 225
