What its like not to own a B5 anymore

Hi all, not posted on here for a long while and ive been reading through the different post's and see that nothing has changed, its still a great forum.I am so envious of you all that are still lucky enough to own a B5, believe me when it goes you will never replace it. When i sold mine i thought i was making a good decision because it was still at its peak and still fetching a good price.I thought ive had my fun with her now its time someone else got to enjoy her as much as i have. Shortly afterwards you try and fill the void with several BM's, M3's etc etc but nothing can replace that feeling you get in a tuned RS4. You end up browsing through Autotrader and Piston Heads like your trolling through a porn site, getting excited when you see one thats similar to yours, its sad i know. You drive down the road and get overtaken by a boy racer in a Scooby and mutter to yourself "that wouldnt of happened if id of been in my RS4" and then you tell your wife "i would of kicked his a**e in the RS4" like youve just been beaten in a 'who's got the biggest P**is competition'. It gets even worse when on that rare occasion you see one on the road, you point and shout god knows what to the driver trying to tell him "i used to own an RS4, a black one with a stage 2+ from MRC", "look, look" i shout at the wife and daughter "its an RS4 like mine, look". My wife keeps telling me to buy another but i cant because its not going to be the same, i had my chance, i sold mine, like a partner there's an RS4 out there for everyone and i had my soul mate and gave her up, so the moral to this story is 'think long and hard before you sell yours, and the grass is definately not greener on the other side'.

Id love to get another one Sav but theres always going to be that comparison, also id want to get a standard one and build up to the spec i had before which costs a fortune and ive already done it once, one day maybe if the right one come along, and it felt right.

If you ever consider getting shot of your rs4 dont do it, i thought it was a great idea, car was 10 ten years old worried about upcoming problems and listening to all the horror stories, and never being able to use it to its full potential ie 100 miles a month and cops every where, i bought a 330d beemer got it mapped, lowered and thought it would do me just fine, 2nd baby on the way, what a pile of junk as soon as i get my cherished plate off it in the new year its gone and i will get another b5!!!! Be warned!!!

I really miss mine but I had to sell earlier this year because I left the country and the steering wheel was on the wrong side for me to take it with me. It was the most fund daily driver I ever had. I replaced it with an E63 AMG and I have to say that I actually like the torque, automatic transmission and the paddle shifter. Maybe I'm just getting old...

Spent just over £5k on the last "service" on the RS4 with the Grizz. The bill was quite high due to putting the B7 RS4 front brakes on, new disks at the rear and several other bits and bobs. I've had the car from new (2001) and can't see me getting rid of it anytime soon. Long live the B5 RS4

Hi mate, happy new year, I had quite an expensive year with mine as well although nowhere near as much as the depreciation loss on a newer model would be
I assume you have now given up with the wobbling AP's then?
Nothing can beat the smile raised when you hit 3k in 3rd/4th gear when you are in "playtime"

Been thinking of letting mine go, hardly used it this last 2 years been garaged and almost forgotten about, maybe this spring I might get it out, detail and put it up for sale, one of only few 02 missano RS4 B5 in the country, just 70k and in beautiful condition. Then again maybe next year..lol
