RS4 B5 brake rotors replacement. Help!!!!

Post by rs4crazy » Wed Nov 24, 2010 4:06 am

 Can anybody help me where I find out drilled rotors for my car? I have been searching the web like crazy and I only find big brake kits that are unaffordable for a brazilian car. I would like to only change the rotors not getting a complete new brake.

Special order from Quattro GmbH, you will need a chassis number from a car that had them fitted when new or they wont supply you.
The price will frighten you.

Thanks you. I had already figure that out. But what about other rotor brakes manufacturer such as EBC, Wilwood or even Brembo or Movit? Wouldn´t them built such parts? What you guys do in Europe when is to replace a rotor?

Why not fit B7 RS4 discs?
Not sure if they are compatible with the standard caliper though

Mr Crazy,

EBC do specific Discs (sorry Rotors) for the B5 RS4 Part Number D1148 Front and D1149 on the rear. You have to ring them to get prices though.

I was looking for a drilled discs but it is getting to hard to find one. Everything I looked has to go through replacing the calipers and pads as well. I will try the EBC discs.
Thanks,

Ed

Cut the plug and lead from old pads, solder and heatshrink the two wires together and plug back in.
Just remember you wont get a warning when you rear pads are low.

EBC only lists these discs but they have never manufactured any, at least not as of late. I've tried contacting EBC in Europe about this and they say excatly what I stated here. They have a P/N but it is not active, trust me on this.

The only one that can sell rear front and rear discs beside stock are DBA and a swedish tuner (fastone.se) and also tar-ox, but tar-ox are really slow in correspondance, Ì've got a reply that they can sell them to me, but no reply since that when I asked about shipping and payment info (contacted tar-ox italy directly)

I guess it might be possible that some other tuner sells these discs too, fastone has manufactured an own floating hub with interchangable rings.
So the first swap is about the same price as OEM, but the ring change is about half the price.

There is a dude on ebay.de named ur1980 that can supply these drilled b5 discs, they are NOT cheap however, you don't need to supply your vin code for this deal though.

This was with calipers, he didn't have an auction with just these discs at the moment

I have the B7 setup on the front of mine and just brought a pair of VW Phaeton V12 discs (1/3 of the price), need to just swap the 'bells' over on exisiting discs. The discs are just plain but i just about to machine 8 evenly spacers grooves in each side - cross drilled discs crack !
