Swapped my B5 with a mate for his 4S over the weekend. Wasn't quite what I expected..... thought I’d share some thoughts……

Good:
Exhaust note..... big smiles!

Steering - very precise and really can 'feel' a lot more of the road through it compared to my B5

Bad:
Biggest shock was how SLOW it felt. Took it from near standstill through all the gears to 120+ several times and every time couldn’t help thinking that my B5 would show it up without evening having to try. Would love to try them side by side and see if that’s just how it felt.

Didn’t feel anyway near as secure at high speed as my B5: I was backing off at 80 odd because I didn’t feel the car was secure on corners where I know I’m normally good with the cruise control set to 85+ in my B5.

Hard work – I got out of the Porsche after a couple of hours absolutely knackered. Not what I’m used to.

Attention – twice I was approached in car parks by people looking at the car and wanting to ask me about it. I kind of like my anonymity: it’s the ability to do more without being spotted. Back to my debadged B5 for me then :D

Good to see the RS still kick a**e. My mate at work has one and reckons that it's way quicker than mine but will never try and prove it

Is yours stock?
The 4S is only 320bhp? A fair bit of difference...

To be fair my car (450bhp) is quicker than all 911's with the ecception of a turbo, or probably a GT3/RS on track...

You will be surprised Stumpy. Turbo and GT3 not as quick....

Very true although the new Turbo S is quite tasty...
