My RS4 is off to get a full re-spray in a couple of weeks but i'm looking for a little advice regarding the mirrors.
I am assuming they are aluminium but they have a few marks on them which doesn't wash off. Are they laquered or can they be polished up by using Autosol or Peek polish?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Mirrors
RE: Mirrors
Yeah, they're alloy but they have an anodised finish.
Just can't get the smile off my face......

You could try a light compound but if you have them polished they won't match the roofbars and window surrounds (provided you don't have black optics) and will require constant upkeep as the alloy will be bare and will oxidise.
If you use forecourt pressure washers, the TFR will bleach the alloy and will most likely require re-polished......

Who's doing your respray? And how much is the ball park figure for it? PM me if you prefer.Steviescottish wrote:My RS4 is off to get a full re-spray in a couple of weeks but i'm looking for a little advice regarding the mirrors.

I am putting the car to long standing friends of mine who have their own spray shop. Castlepark Autobody, Ellon, Aberdeenshire.
It will cost me £4k for a full respray, but that is for a FULL spray job!!
Kenny & Neil are fussy fussy guys and only put out first class jobs.
I know that £4k is quite alot but i also know the car will be stunning and absolutely perfect when i get it back. That's very important to me. Also, i am completely confident that no corners will have been cut to achieve the finished article.
These guys are well known in this area for their work. They have done a few project cars that have won some serious prizes, notably VW Beetle restorations for some of the worlds biggest and richest collectors.
As you can see, i can't speak high enough about these guys.
