That seems like a fair price, roughly the same as stumpy's rs but with a little more mileage.
I would take £16k if offered.
Lovely example and best of luck with the sale.

A dull diesel estate, and hopefully a V8 Dax Rush for weekend blasting.
As for the 19" rims - take a look at the Pistonheads listing. If they don't go with the car, I'll either keep them for the dull Tdi replacement, or if they don't fit (likely!), sell them...

Not if you're in the north and want a good example of a B5 RS4, in black, with sunroof, carbon trim and hi-tec...

fair enough, it wouldnt bother me where the car was, but i guess some people would not want to travel.
personally i would travel to see a car within reason, but i wouldnt go see a car that looked expensive compared to other similar cars. i hope you get what you are after.

We all know hiltoa's rs is a very well cared for example in great condition, that alone would persuade me to part with the extra cash. The above examples may or may not have questionable history. But at the end of the day everything is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
Anyway im sure hiltoa will get good price for his rs, its certainly worth what he is asking. Good luck with the sale!!!

Sorry to be a party pooper guys but andyleeds is right, theres some very nice motors out there at fair money, when you werent an owner hektor my 2001 car with alot less miles nav etc full milltek was worth less than this a YEAR ago......and my car was absolutely mint and marketed for over 4 months in a mild recession not todays climate, R5CPKs car is still for sale and you all said that was too cheap its bang on imo

I sure most of us who have, or have looked for, B5 RS4s know what kind of motors are out there - You either travel miles to find out that it's a thrashed example with dodgy history, or find a gem just round the corner.
I know mine is a one of the cared for ones, so it's priced accordingly. If it was completely mint, like N11LS_J's was, I'd be asking £25k.
As for the mileage - anything under 100k at 10 years old is pretty low mileage in my book...

Agree completely about individual cars condition, there will be some serious junk out there by now but the cars highlighted do look good on face value

All good, and all varied viewpoints on what, lets be fair, is a very subjective market for a very specialised car.
I think we've got to the turnaround point where values are splitting - good honest cars are starting to appreciate, selling in the £15k to £25k bracket, while the 'risky' cars continue to lose money, now getting down to the £12k mark - we've seen it with UR-quattros and to a lesser extent with RS2s. It's probably the best time to get into an RS4, if you can find a pukka one that's valued the same as a more risky example then you're quids in.
Time will tell, let's just hope we end up a with bunch of happy sellers and just as happy buyers all round.
As for me, I can wait - I love my car, but just have to do more miles for work now, so my priorities in a daily driver have shifted slightly.
