Phaeton front discs

Post by prosty » Tue Nov 24, 2009 5:56 pm

Hi!

I'm pretty new to this forum and I've read a few threads about putting phaeton TDI discs (360x34mm) fronts and they are a direct swap, is this accurate? from what I gathered when I read the specs on the phaetons is the offset isn't 100% accurate, can anyone confirm that they fit directly or do you have to modify anything to make them fit in the front?

As I have a good price on EBC brakes this would be a real goldmine for me considering VAG charges 800 quid for a new pair of fronts

I hope this thread isn't a duplicate one but I didn't see anyone confirming the fitment in the front, only that the rear fitment was a bit extra work.

Markus

They are a swap for the B7 RS4 disks but as the offset is different, you need to swap the bells from the old disks

I have these on my RS6 / B7 RS4 set up. I swapped over the bells from the B7 discs to fit the Phaeton ones - they are 365 mm not 360mm

Not with the standard setup, but they are an option for anyone with the B7 setup.

JHMotorosports also produce a replacement which uses the original bell from the B7 discs.

There is a 360mm version of that disk.

If you want a more affordable disc replacement for the b5 RS4 have a look at DBA discs, there are a few posts about them if you do a search.

I have emailed DBA a million times, they don't ssem to be interested as I have not had a response! The uk importer told me to ask them directly as they have never come into the uk for the RS4!!
