Charge Pressure Control...?

Can anyone tell me what this is?

While having a blast today (from annoyance as some silly woman nearly steered her car into me tonight!) I seem to lose power.
I had an inital blast down a small section of empty motorway, which is why I didn't notice it immediately, but then on my return journey, the car felt like I had disconnected the N75.

Ran VAG-COM and sure enough found 17965 Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation code showing.
Strange thing is, while the car was off while I'm running VAG-COM, I decided to see if I could see anything obvious in the engine bay; I couldn't, but I fiddled with the 75 valve (literally just moved it to ensure it was OK - didn't actually disconnect or reconnect it).
I then did a quick road test on my way home and the car seems OK again...?????

The above details the same issue, but I'm puzzled as to why my car feels OK again - any ideas what this could be as a result?

Thanks

I could be wrong but I thought 17965 codes reset on turning ignition on off (until they occur again)

Perhaps, as I had a blast for 2 hours today (road testing to see if this issue re-occurred) and it did about 1 1/2 hours in.
Definately get reduced power and no way of knowing when/if it's coming back - no lights on my dash i.e. ESP, ABS or EPC at all; the only way I know I'm down on power is my trying to use it. Like I said, it just feels like I've got N75 disconnected.

But based on the fact that it came back, I'm thinking I would be consistently without it if it were TBB, but could possibly not be if it was N75; according to Ross Tech wiki it could also be Charge Pressure Control defective (which is what my initial question is - what is this and where is it).
