what could this be?

under heavy braking my car gets very nervous and snakes slightly. i've got a b7 set-up all round and pads/discs are in good condition.

any thoughts?

when braking hard the steering moves a bit to the left and then to the right?
i do get it at times.

could be warped discs...

I would have a look at all the front suspension arms,i replaced a couple on mine when i noticed it behaving as you describe,it also became a little more sensative over white lines etc tramlining more than normal.Inspection is best done with the car sat on its wheels but up on a ramp,rock it under power with the footbrake on while someone looks/feels for movement in all the balljoints/bushes

Check the track rod ends, had this very same problem about 6 months ago and the near side one was knackered !

erm........... :oops:

discs fine, tyres are only 7k old - could be suspension arm bushes getting them done soon so will see i suppose.

yeh tie rod ends are notorious to fail on all B5's at this sort of age/mileage
